Naming Suggestions Region 4
The Region consists of the soon to be Apolytonian Cities of:
Paris
Marseilles
Rouen
Lyons
This region is diverse geographically, jungle in Marseilles, forest near Paris, two rivers, the coast near Rouen and a portion of the Great Rift near Paris and Lyons. There is a source of iron obtainable, once Paris expands further culturally, and Rouen and Paris could be a jumping ground to some free area to expand in, i.e. just West of the Great Rift and north of the Russians. There are some nice plains in that area, horses, wheat, more forest....
Having said that about this soon to be beautiful area of our nation, soon to be our most geographically pleasing area (no offense to my fellow governors); however, its most dominant charcteristics would be the wine shared by Lyons, Marseilles and Paris.
Finally, this is also the area where I spent several adventures, please see past editions of the Jungle Gazette, first as a friend then as a prisoner, now as an enemy. The despicable LeClerc and dubious Joan D'Arc will pay very shortly for their earlier transgressions.
Please, using this bit of history and geography, suggest names. I have some suggestions, but will save them in hopes you all come up with something better.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hmm, well I think it's vital that the name commemorate the fact that this area was at one time the heart of France. And the fact that, unless the military just DECIMATES the populace, there is going to be a significant number of people of french decent in your region!
So... I speak french, let me think about this, I can come up with a couple of really good ones...
Chezcoeur Province! (heart home, pronounced "shay cur")
-or-
Main du Vin (wine hand... but it rhymes, "man do van")

Ile de France is good (true name for the region surronding Paris IRL, and heart of France).
If we really go for something virtual, I'd go for Rose Province ("rose" means Pink in French, and the rose flower as well), or something else built around "Rose".

I think, to make the name have a little backround to it, we should name one of the cities "Faust City".
Faust City would be a decent city name because Faust (The People of the city we plan to capture) made a deal with Mephistopholes (sp?)(France), but then was later accepted by God (Apolyton).
I think it's a good name.

Gentlemen, I see a mention of Cities names, if you have any others please post them. May as well be prepared to get rid of those un-Apolytonian names.
Also, can some one provide me with the French translation of Joan's Head and Joan's Heart?
Thanks.
Edit:
Oh and what is the English translation of Ile de France

Joan's Head = tête de Jean
Joan's Heart = coeur de Jean
Île de France = island of france, or french island

Here goes the French teacher again (sorry, it's just that I'm French)
Joan is "Jeanne" in French. "Jean" would be John. Big difference isn't it
Paranoid is said "paranoïaque", even if you could be understood with "paranoïde" (not a French word, but not many word begin with "paranoï" )

Spiffor I disagree; paranoïque is a noun, meaning a paranoic; i wanted the adjective form. But you're right about Joan, my bad. That was a mind fart on my part.
and if rendelnep wanted to say Grade A Wine, it wouldn't be Grade A Vin... but it doesn't really matter it's just a name

How about Lathonwafrbunohabecobyap?
Land that once was France but has now been conquered by Apolyton.

This is a great suggestion. Ties in our historic Plan Pink, and seems appropriate for the Frogs we have appropriated.

Trevman, while I appreciate the effort, I'm just not sure I like the ring of that one.
I have come up with actually a combination....Ile de Rose Chezcoeur Province
Now, if I'm not mistaken that should mean Island of the Pink Heart Home Province...roughly meaning the heart of the Pink homeland.
Please correct my French, or reorder it if I have the words the worng way.
Oh, and for Paris, when we take her, I would like to rename it Tête de Jeanne or Joan's head. Faust can be one of the other cities. (of course this goes out the window if I have no right to name cities.)
Thank you all for contributions.

Île de Rose Chezcoeur Province... it's a pretty name. Sounds french. And yes the grammar is good enough really. Takes some liberties I suppose, but it's a name so that's fine. I like it! And the french love acronyms, so we could easily dub it IRC Province lol. Or just Ile de Rose, or Chezcoeur.
And Tête de Jeanne is a cool name for Paris.

Various suggestions:
"French Quarter" - stolen from New Orleans
"Wineland" - play on "Rheinland"
"The Fields of Agincourt" - Need I explain.....
Course you could mix and match stuff like "the Wineland of Agincourt". Good for tourism brochures............

Ile de Rose Chezcoeur is a bit heavy IMO, and I fear many non-French-speaking people will forget the complete name, and refer it to IRC province
Chezcoeur has definitely a French sound (even if I never heard such a thing in all my life ), but I fear it will bring even more typos than Ubergorsk : "ez" is said "é", and "coeur" is said "sha ker" (btw "Chezcoeur" would be said like "shaker" with a French accent)
"Ile de Rose" also definitely sounds French, and recalls the nickname of Toulouse IRL ("ville rose"). I think it's more simple for the non French speaking public. But Ile de Rose has a drwaback : it's in 2 words, and can be shortened IR by us lazy slobs
If I had to make a choice, I'll take Ile de Rose, because I think edges overweight the flaws.
