Hmm, you're right mapfi. I'm pretty sure it worked okay earlier but now the World Map only works on the Original Game. Directory entry changed to reflect this...

Modifing a link with Mozilla 1.1 doesn't look good. Markos you made the forum more Mozilla friendly please do it to with the directory. The add a link page looks similar in Mozilla 1.1.

I'll change it when you use the "modify link" page instead of the "add link" one

Markos, I think modifying links might reset the date.

Well the field is titled added, not last updated...
And I for myself is more interested in the added thing. That in combination with version number should give enough info.

That is odd, I just copied the url from the Mozilla 1.1 address line to the Netscape 4.78 address line in order to get longer lines for more to see the entries in longer lines actual this didn't helped for the Discription, because it doesn't do the wordwrap in Netscape 4.78.
So I modified the entry, I replaced the version number, replaced the URL by the URL were the latest version can be found added a second URL for the update file and finally altered the discription field. I added some notes about the second file to make clear that it is only the update.
Finally I hit the Edit Link button. And the submission was confirmed. Actual I expect if I am on the add a link form I have to fill out entirely, so I am shure it was the modify a link form.

Shure and Done. And just in case I have to resubmit it again, here is the information from the edit link form. I replaced the suggested URL by an URL were the latest version can be found. I added to the description the part in capital letters. I left the Image field and the related forum thread as it was suggested. Changed the version number. Added the second URL. Changed the size number. And left Full Size Image as it was empty and left the requirements.

Title: GoodMod: The Mod of Goods
URL: http://guehmann.bei.t-online.de/GoodMod1.zip
Description:
GoodMod: The Mod of Goods does not only add 33 new trade goods to the game but also fixes it in a lot of areas. It is available from the Apolyton Directory as a bilingual version in English and German and it is designed to be used with CityMod2 or ApolytonPack or MedPack2, at least you need one of these mods in order to use GoodMod.
NOTE THE SECOND FILE CONTAINS AN UPDATE FROM ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF GOODMOD TO VERSION 1.0. IF YOU HAVE A PREVIOUS VERSION OF GOODMOD YOU ONLY NEED THIS FILE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PREVIOUS VERSION OF GOODMOD YOU ONLY NEED THE MAIN FILE.
And now to the other features let me quote Locutus:
"The GoodMod is a mod which, contrary to what the name suggests, improves a lot more than just the trade goods. Although changes to trade goods are an important part of GoodMod, mayor improvements are also made to particularly the AI, but also to diplomacy, terrain, tile improvements, pollution, sounds, interface and other aspects of the game."
Image: http://apolyton.net/~ctp2files/mods/goodmod.jpg
Related Forum Thread 25425
Version Number 1.0
Second URL http://guehmann.bei.t-online.de/GMtextup.zip
Size 3622 kb
Full-size Image
Requirement Patch v1.11, ModSwapper v1.5 and CityMod2 or Apolyton Pack v2.0 or Medieval Pack v2.2
|
The only occurence I should report is that I was disconnected while I was filling the form.
I hope this is now right otherwise I will try it without the second URL. I used Mozilla 1.1 to update the link. Afterwards I pressed the button under the conformation message (screencapture below) I returned to the Modify Your Links page. I was able to chose between 6 links instead of seven below as last time. (The one I edited as I expected was missing.)

That's what I said. The only way to see if there is an old or a new file is to check the id and see if it is around where new files should be or if it's where the old files should. Make the date stay.

Nah, I like the date - most CtP2 files were created long before they were/are added to the Dir (most Civ3 files as well) - the Dir is young and many files are older, plus for many files it takes a while to go from first alpha to addition to the Dir. The date *should* IMHO reflect the last update (although it would be help if the text next to the date would reflect this). As far as the modified files go, I don't really mind/care since I know by heart which file are and aren't already in the Dir. However, I agree it wouldn't hurt if this was indicated *somehow*, but I don't think the date field is the best way to do this.

The best would be if there were two date fields. One created and one added. But all the custom fields are used up, so that would require a hack...

I just feel that it didn't worked with the id, I just had to notice that the link in my signature leaded me directly to an empty form actual only ETB's review was on it. The modified link has a different id and has one rewiev but no rewiev on its page. And that's also the explaination why I can only count 20 links in the CTP2 mod category although it says there are 24 links.

Yes, the old one is hidden now. For some reason a copy was made rather than an update of the old file. I didn't notice the review had disappeared. I'll see if I can rescue it (the old file is hidden now)...
