The IMF doesn't. It approved of limited devaluations in Spain during the mid 90s (which led to a return of economic growth), Brazil and Turkey.

No way! Your country hasn't paid diddly squat when it comes to loan. You defaulted on the entire external debt.

NO YOU DIDN'T! THAT ISN'T CAPITALISM, rather Russian styled cronism.

I think I am going to stay in the lead for the most economic right.... you know I thought I would become a lot less right-wing radical... turns out it was only by a small bit....

What I find interesting is the fact that Fez and I should try talking econ rather than other things... he and I would probably finally find something we could agree on.

It is very strange most unpopular corner is authoritarian/left... There were so many such politics... Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Kim il Sung, Kim young Il, Chrushchev, Brezhnev, Khadafi to name a few...

I retook the test . I did have a little bias this time, but I also understood some of the questions better and answered accordingly. I tried to answer as honestly as possible to what I truley believe and not to what I want my score to be . My new score of 0.88/ -2.31 is a fair representation of myself.

Fez, excuse me but you are absolutely wrong regarding the devaluation.
When Duhalde became president he established a new "convertivilidad": 1, 40 pesos = 1 dolar.
And he said that it was going to be the new fix value of the currency.
The imf was against of it (Anne Krueger was even in favor of an hyperinflation, afterwards, according to her, the peso would find its market-imposed real value).
You are clearly wrong there, maybe the imf did approved some mini-devaluation in Spain in the past, but that was not the case of Argentina.
Duhalde wanted a new "convertivilidad" at 1,40.
Devaluating was on of the conditions of the IMF, Duhalde even had to fight hard, because the IMF wanted a totally free currency, but at the end they accepted interventions of the central bank.
What we call "flotacion sucia".
There is no way you can deny this, it was in all the newspapers, it was one of the requisites to start negotiating a new deal.

He never even proposed such a plan!
That fool didn't even know what he was doing.
The least you can hope for now is that former economy minister Lopez Murphy wins the Presidency and not have some thug like Saa, Menem or Carrio win.

That is bull! You and I know that Argentina should of established the devaluation in a much more coherent process rather than having it slide off the board.

Not from what I know. That idiot doesn't even know what he is doing. And don't even start me about Lavagna.

Wrongo. Duhalde fight? In what way? He is a weak president with little to no knowledge of what this country really needs. A capable liquidity model based on the Chilean Banking system is what this country needs. The GDP might have to be liquidated by 20% though to reach that but I see that there isn't any choice.

I wouldn't believe the lies in the newspaper even if the world were to end.
There will be no more deals with Argentina. Not with the Duhalde adminstration. The money will end up stolen or misused and everybody knows it.

red_jon, I would probably fit on that chart right above Kramerman, on the central horizontal line, on the left side.

I always enjoy meeting people with similar views as myself. This would include about everyone along the mid axis from my old score (on the graph) to flameflash towards the right. Nice to meet you all, my fellows of the political golden mean.

Actually, now that I have completed the test, I did not score how I thought I would score.
Here are my actual scores, so you can add me to the chart with the other Apolytoners:
Economic - left/right, negative 4.00
Authoritarian/Liberty, negative 5.95
