Urgent questions for Economy, Science and FAM ministers
The Tech plan to trade to Iriquois for thier WM and all their gold has been voted and approved. How, then, does it effect the map whoring project, if at all?

I suggest the following plan:
We'll sell currency to the Iroquois for 25 gold and their WM. Since they charge 7 gold coins for their WM, it must contain new information that will increase the value of our WM so we'll be able to get more money for it in the next trades.
Then we'll deal with Germany. Germany has 6 gold and they're willing to offer it all in exchange for our current WM. However, after we buy the Iroquois' WM, Germany might be willing to pay 6 gold + their WM, which they currently charge 5 gold for. Again, this will increase the value of our WM. If they still don't agree to give their WM, do the trade with Babylon (WM for WM as they have no money) and then return to Germany and offer the same deal. If they still don't agree, throw in a gold coin or two - it's worth it since we'll get even more money for our WM now.

My plan is to sell the Iriquois Currency after the map project, a couple turns later.
I'm assuming that the Iriquois will collect a few more gold pieces in the interrim, however, it is entirely possible that they will lose gold or that the value of Currency will go down.
Frankly, I think Currency is worth more to the Iriquois than we'd make, because their offer is everything they can possibly give us for Currency, so I set it up so that we check to see how much they'll offer each turn to get the best possible amount.
Take a look at my turnthread plans and if they can use some tweaking, I'd be happy to adjust. I just want to ensure that we get the most money possible.

p.s. Unless I'm mistaken, trades with other nations are done by me, except ones dealing with resources. I've consulted with Donal and he's ok with this trade agreement.

I thought science had to go through science as well. Ok, after the map project. That's all I needed.
Should I continue checking to see if they are no longer offering all their $?
And while I have your attention:
Should I build the Embassy in Paris right before I make the save? This way we can all see if it will be worth it to wait for declaring war.

Unortho.
I'd like to apologize. I reread Shiber's plan, pondered it, and it ought to net us more money in the long term than what I had originally proposed, as we would be selling a much more valuable map to more people. It is also simpler for you to do, so you won't have to keep checking prices every turn.
I will now change my plans in the minister thread to reflect this plan. Hopefully Donal won't object. I proposed my last plan to him and he approved it.

Unortho : establishing an embassy right before posting the save is an excellent idea

Unortho - Please take a screen shot of Paris when you do set up the embassy. Thanks.

The Iroquois have very few roads, no tiles with gold and they are nowhere near any rivers. My guess is that their only source for commerce comes from their shores.
The Iroquois have 6 shore cities. We have 5 shore cities but we have tons of roads and lots of rivers within our territory and we only spend 10% on science and 0% on entertainment. The Iroquois probably spend 0% on entertainment as well since their largest towns are Salamanca and Grand River with 3 population (2 content faces from military police, one happy face in Salamanca thanks to Spices) but they may be putting more money into science than we do.
Anyway, my point is that the Iroquois probably make very little gold per turn so I wouldn't bet on being able to sell something for a decent price to the Iroquois in less than 15 turns.

I just have the power to advise. If you look at my orders, I approve any tech and map trading.
I'll basically approve trading all the time unless there is some major conflict.

Togas, the plan seems sound to me. Anything that nets us more money is ok with me!
