Leaders or Gods?
Wouldn't the leaders be better represented by gods? I know it might be a bit non-PC (which goes against the firaxisis grain) but that shouldn't stop someone creating a mod.
the leaders do afterall live for 6000 years before retiring...
e.g.
Greece: Zeus
Rome: Jupiter
Egypt: Osiris (or Ra)
Babylon: Marduk
Aztecs: Quetzalcoatl
Chinese: Yuan-shi tian-zong
Indians: Vishnu
Americans: The Dollar

Well actually this is a fine idea for a mod, but don't even thinking about proposing the cancellation of leaders in the no-mod version .

Good point! It would be impossible for any great human to rush a Great Wonder in 1 turn; only God can do that! Therefore, I agree with you.

No, Dollar is pretty much historically accurate
And he means Leaders as in rulers, not leaders as in Great Leaders, I think

Isn't that why Zeus exempted himself from the Trojan War? Maybe the Greeks could get Athena and the Romans Venus? Not bad avatars after all; they did start the Trojan War...

If you want to be complete, Hera had something to do with starting the Trojan war.
But it was really all Paris' fault. Or maybe the anonymous guy who threw the apple.

Silly Boys, Lincoln, that bastard, has been practically deitified in the US history books. Hes as close as to a nationally worshipped "god" as you can get in the US.

Hey, pal, that's The Almighty Dollar to you! Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time to turn towards Wall Street for my daily prayers.

does anyone know anything about the gods of the ancient Britons (who eventually become the English... who eventually become the Americans)?
Anyone know what gods were worshipped in ancient Japan or Russia?

Russia:
Perun (analogue of Zeus - God of Thunder, the "boss" of the ancient Slavic pantheon).
Well, in fact, he`s the only one, whose name I can spell in English
For British gods, refer to the King Arthur tales, they should all be listed there. Just they have kinda Welsh-sounding names, quite unpronouncable

The druids worshipped the spirits of the trees.

The God (America Dollar/Uncle Sam whatever) does not go into War.
Bush is the one sending in the troops.
My suggestion is to have multipe leaders and let players choose. American can choose Lincoln, Washington, Bush, Clinton .... etc.

I think you are successfully arguing against even having america in the game.

Ol' Linc may be deified in the books, but nobody is more deified in the culture than Elvis. There's actually a video sold on tv of Elvis "rising from the grave"! Can you believe it? That's just how all that starts, huh?

I bought it (after trying the game out with a cracked version first ) despite that there are no Vikings. Why couldn't they?
