You better watch out!
Three new excellent games coming out soon (one already out) from the stables of great game producing Paradox

-Legion (Paradox & Slitherine) - Brand new engine and new game featuring advanced strategic and tacitcal battles (actually the tactical screen is very innovative) diplomacy from the time of the Roman Republic and Kingdom. -RELEASED-
-Crusader Kings (Paradox & Snowball) Based 50% on the EU2 engine. Game covers a unified religously europe, religious wars, crusades and basically the beloved Dark Ages. Play as a christian head of a dynasty, influence the pope, buy out Knightly Orders.
-Hearts of Iron (Paradox). An excellent game based on WW2. Uses approx 30% of the old EU2 code but is a totally different game. Timeline will include 1936-1947 play as ANY nation in the world. Convoys, Fortifications, Research, Government elections, Dissent. YETH. This will be the ultimate game.

yep, they all look interesting. But I'd wait for the patches to come out, considering Paradox's track record.

Also, this should be in Other Games, more traffic there anyway.

I'm betatesting HoI and it's something unlike I've ever seen before. I am sure it will kick ass.

Paradox has a good track record when it comes to patches. They need so many because their games are so complex and if you haven't already noticed a lot of the patches don't just fix bugs but enhance gameplay.

Besides if they screw something up they fix it really quickly.

Yes, it's true that they fix their bugs quickly. But to get EU to work without crashes I downloaded a total of ten (!) patches. Even now I sometimes get a crash. It's a great game but it was simply impossible to play it out-of-the-box.

I'm sure I will get around to playing them eventually, once they are out.

I don't know about HoI because I find WW2 incredibly boring, but Crusader Kings is guaranteed to rock.

legion didn't seem that great- and it only received 3 stars in CGM.

I don't know about the others

Legion isn't a Paradox game though. It's made by Slitherin (English corp.) and is not very similar to EU...
