Minor Civ2 Annoyance
I have Windows XP and am running Civ2 MGE off it. My screen resolution is 1024x768. However when I start a game or load a save, etc, Civ2 has the zoom on and I need to hit ctrl+z to get the standard zoom. Is there anyway to get Civ2 to always load with standard zoom and not this closer view I keep getting?

Well, the savegames keep the zoom settings.
As for STARTING in what looks like normal zoom, I have no idea.
(FWIW, I use Windows ME, 1024x768. Saves keep their zoom settings in both MGE and ToT.)

If there is I can't figure it out.It is quite annoying. You have something called "standard zoom" but it isn't the standard
btw-it is in the MAC version.I swear PC stuff is intentionally messed up

No what is "default" is not the same as "standard". I load the game and it is in that "default" view and then I need to hit "standard" zoom and it becomes normal. Strange no?

Yep, same problem here. I find it extremely annoying. A long time ago I tried to edit the executable so that it would have the standard settings for all screen resolutions, but I couldn't find anything.
And it's not only the zoom level, also the thickness of the window borders, the size of the city screen, and the size of the tax screen too I think.

I really don't like the enormous, screen-filling city window but there isn't any way to make the shrunken size standard.
