there will be 3 types of polls:
elections
official
unofficial

elections:
may only be started by the alpha talent. must have election
in the subject line. they are purely decision making polls.
poll:
*office in question
*ONLY names candidates
*Abstain (will Refrain from banana)
*write-in-option
*3 days open

first post:
*ONLY names candidates
*link to discussion thread
*expire date

official:
may only be started by a government official. must have official in the subjectline, and must be used as information gathering or desicion making

poll:
*Abstain(will Refrain from banana)
*write-in-option
*minimum of 3 days
*maximum of 7 days
*clear and not biased question and answers

first post:
*(further) explaination of the questions and answers
*(If any) link to discussion thread
*expire date
*stated: information gathering or decision making

unofficial:
may be started by all members of the faction. they are purely information gathering polls

poll:
*minimum of 3 days

first post:
*(if any) expire date
*(if any) link to discussion thread

every poll not following these rules will be deemed INVALID

Great! But why do unofficial polls need rules? If they don't follow them, they will be ignored by the directors anyway. Just leave the unofficial poll starters free.

and about the 3 day minumum: polls that are open under the 3 days, i believe, are to short to relfect the peoples wishes. in only one day not every one visits that forum so can vote. in 3 days a lot more visit the forum.....got the unt

looks good. all polls MUST have a limit, and unofficial polls don't need to say unofficial.

if the poll is deemed invalid, can we do another one right away, or do we have to wait a period of time like in the c3dg?

an invalid poll can be done over immidaitely and you are right about the unofficial thingy in the subject line updating........................updated

in civ2 game, it's interpreted as a vote of no confidence in all candidates...
