Foreign policy towards Greece
What is our current foreign policy towards Greece?
The 350 BC report states that we refuse any demands made by Greece. Shouldn't we change that now that they're in an expansionist mood?

Even if I'll probably get laughed at by warmongers, I think we should give in to any demand from Greece. "Worse", I think we should give a Lyton-per-turn gift to Greece (3-4 Lpt, because they could reasonably demand 60 Lytons) to make them less willing to attack us. a Lpt deal is more efficient to do this than a lump sum gift.
The 2-front war we're fighting is very dangerous, and we risk to lose several cities of El Nido (our Northeastern province). We can't afford to wage a western war, if we want Thebes (Chiquita) and Del Monte to remain in our borders.
If the Greeks attack us, we'll have no way to fight against them. Plus, we'll be dramatically weakened on the international level, and it's likely everyone except Babs and Iroqs gang up on us.

I agree with Spiffor. If the Greeks demand something, we will need to gain some time. Three wars are sufficient for me, and I don't want to loose any city (I'll have a lot of work to change the maps... ) Later, in the game, we will be able to fix this… and retake everything, plus interests.

Don't forget that Greece is currently fighting a war against the English. I think it'll occupy them for a while. After this war we could try to become friends with them, with or without gifts.
Did you notice that they have captured an English city?

Gifting Greece with a modest gpt sum might be shrewd. It shouldn't really bog us down, diplomatically or militarily, since we don't anticipate going to war against them. And we need to shore up a front somewhere. Down the road, the Greeks could be a key line of defense if one of Abananaba Minor's civs becomes dominant and moves against us.
Plus, if we do eventually manage to seize the American territory, the Greeks are going to get very antsy.
Would gifting them make them less likely to attack?

I'm for sucking up to Greece right now. I think operations "Sidon Slaughterhouse" and "Hamburg Sandwich" will end the "Persio-Germanic Greed Grab Fiasco" quickly. Then we can build up our infrastructure and watch the conflict from the sidelines while we calculate who is the "ripest plum".

I dont think the Greeks will be making too many demands since they are in a 2 front war, but if they do, definately give in unless its outragous
I am worried about Germany or Persia bribing them before we can make peace though. If this was my game, id honestly probally try to bribe them first just to be as sure as I could that they'd be kept off my back. But I know we want to get out all three wars asap and an alliance makes this impossible if we want to keep our reputation spotless (which we do). So we'll just have to hope

The Foreign Policy towards Greece has been changed as a result of the above discussion.

hi ,
Alexander tends to be a fair man , ....
so if we treat them good we should get the same back , ....
yet we should watch our shoulder with every one , ....
if he gets cavalry first we might expect him over for a cup of thee , ....
