Why did France fight well enough to invade most of Europe in the late 1700-early 1800 ?
Because of the French revolution: since the enemy was inside the country, the army retreated to the neighbouring states...

Well, if you want to get technical, the Brits were in the war longer than Russia was. And unlike Russia, they didn't forge an alliance with Hitler to carve up a sovereign state.

Yes, they just "sold" Chezhoslovakia to Hitler.
And since which times non-agression pact it's the same as alliance?
And yes, Brits declared war on Germany after Hitler invaded Poland. Do you know about casualty rates on German-British front for first half of the year of this war? 147 soldiers KIA. Very intensive battles.

So what are you trying to say? If the Brits didn't declare against Hitler over Poland then he consolidates and unleases the blitz against Russia. Hitler never wanted war with England. He would have attacked Russia and they would have been alone and he would have won. And then we would have had to deal with Hitler in a follow-up war in which he had the atomic bomb.
Geez........

They have a mutal protection pact and Hitler perfectly knew this when he planned an attack.

How?
Germany in 1939 it's not the same as Germany in 1941. Hitler needed Europe industry to attack SU. Without industry of occupied European countries he had no single chance vs. SU.

Hey Russian biatch,
How is your currency doing? Have you sold all your cultural icons to the Americans yet. We need something to laugh at.

To say the soviet union and nazi germany weren't "allies" in 1940 is a bit of a farce, considering how soviet propaganda cheered the fascists as smashing the evil imperialists.
Oh, and the blatant annexation of eastern poland and negotiations between molotov and ribbentrop about carving up eastern europe count as something close to an alliance, in my opinion. Especially how Stalin was unable to believe that Hitler actually attacked him. (he went into a near shock after the blitz).
