I voted for rah because I like his avatar and I'm also interested in Egyptian history and culture.

In the picture, I'm on the left and rah is on the right.
We are identical twin brothers... and as rah will NEVER let me forget, he is 18 ****ing minutes older than I am

Man he sure grew fast in that 18 minutes. He looks about 5 inches taller than you!

I'm actually only a few inches taller. It's where we are standing relative to the camara is what exagerates the difference. We traded back and forth on who was tallest growing up. During College I passed him for good.

Shenanigans!
I'm calling shenanigans! The only reason Ming's got so many votes relative to everybody else is because he's banned half the people who'd otherwise vote against him!

Well, considering how much power Solver apparently really has, I think I should be on that list too, for 'moderating' the CtP1&2 forums...
'Real' mods still missing: Gramphos & Mark_Everson.
BTW, MacUser is only barely a mod as well, he posted exactly once in the last year, and that wasn't even in 'his own' forum

I'm still not sure if it's a good sign when brothers call each other to talk about something that happened on an online-messageboard.......
When you guys are on a birthday party... do you talk about apolyton? And what does the rest of the gang in that case? Listen carefully, or do they laugh their heads off?
just wondering........

Something that makes me wonder as well is,
when you guys do talk over the phone, or in public, do you use the nicknames 'rah' and 'ming'?
c'mon, be honest...... you do, don't you?

Mostly... we talk golf and sports. While we do discuss Civ MP games some, we do have real lives, so we talk about what's going on, just like normal people do.
We talk about Apolyton a tad more than we did before he became a mod, but it represents only a small part of what we talk about. Considering how old we are, the period we have spent on Apolyton is only a very small part of our lives.
And no... we don't call each other rah and ming...

Badly phrased question... but nahhhh. Like all brothers, we have our "disagreements", and being twins, we are VERY competitive. But life is too short... so we don't stay angry with each other very long.
And it was great growing up with a twin brother who liked to do the same things I did. We played all the Avalon Hill board games. It's much easier being a wargamer when you have somebody to play with during the long winters in Chicago when you are stuck inside.
And the internet is just a bonus. Now we can play games against each other from the comfort of our own homes. But I still party with him alot since we live so close to each other

how should I have phrased it?
my question was more about 'funny treating' like:
"If you say that again I'll ban you on apolyton"

Looks like Dan isn't "in" anymore. Too many newbies that don't give value to backstage work and high quality lurking.

Yep, backstage work doesn't mean a lot on theses boards, unless the boards are ****ed up, anyway.
