The Recreation Commons
Have fun!
Anyone fancy a drink?
The current list of beverages is:
Beer
Heineken (cryocooled!)
Leffe (the best)
Velkopopovicky Beer (Suomi. Nuff said)
New Caledonian Beer (For those who support CCCP!)
Xenobrew (Support the Research Department!)
Wine list
Red Sol de Mesa (Wine out of the good sunny Mesa fungus - tastes fine with the sealurk - will become available after we've discovered that place )
White Yugo de Suelo Pholussia (A wine I can´t recommend completely; a little too sweet)
Doceagua (From the nearby Freshwater Sea)
Non-alcoholic beverages
Wild Cherry Pepsi
Water (Expensive! Our water recycling technics aren't perfected yet. I'd suggest a nice beer instead...)
P4PSI (For old times' sake. Enlightens your mind.)
Orange Juice
Longisland-icetea
Cocktails
Chiron-Redberry-Cocktail
Hive Mind Stuff (with honey)
Muroroa (makes you glow)
Bloody Miriam
Black Stuff (High quality label - we are not responsible for its content)
Kalimotxo (two thirds of Red Sol de Mesa, one third of P4PSI)
Other
Fungal Gin (A real killer!)
Talisker Whisky (Deirdre's treat)
Jack Daniels Blue Label (0.15 ec per bottle)
Salmiakkikossu (Salted licorice)
We have been thinking about serving warm meals. Handy for workers with a late shift:
Chopped Psych Worms with Lurk-Blood Sauce
Lurkroast with Moonson-Salad
Fungus Tower Schnitzel with deep-fried worms
Pickled Spores

Given that we've been in statis for some number of years, does this mean we're all considered legal age for the purposes of this? ;D

Alcholo is certainly not suggested. Sure, we aren't the Believers, but considering that we are the UN Peacekeepers, we should have some limits. I for one am not of age for alcohol or cigarettes.

((OOC: As far as drinking goes... are we using the Greece drinking age, or Planet's... because I really doubt there's been a drinking age set yet IMO )
Until the beuracracy tells us different, Archaic, I beleive we can!
*FF, however, pulls out a keg of Wild Cherry Pepsi, spikes it with extra cherry syrup, and gives himself a drink.*
Anybody else?
*offers the hose to the... crowd?*

nae, I have a feeling that this will stay on the top for good.
Btw, remember the 500-post limit. My suggestion is that after this thread makes it to 500, we leave it be and start a new one, accordingly named 'The Recreation Commons II". Any humour re: the name could be appreciated too, however.

Or we could recall it the Hologram Theatre, or Paradise Garden, depending on the technology level we have reached by then.
May I suggest "fungal gin" as the local brand for this rec commons? You can leave to your own imagination if there's alcohol in it.

When we build paradise gardens, that's where I will be spending my free time, along with "talking" to transcendents on the Telepathic Matrix.

As for starting some On-Topic ACDG discussion. Should this Rec Commons be entirely supported by our benevolent government, or do we need to pay for our drinks?

I think that to a certain extent, the Anti-Drone Slush Fund could be used to curtail some of the costs. So lower prices, but not free drinks.

TKG, my thoughts exactly. It's a born classic.

We should avoid conflict at any reasonable cost. If someone comes to us and asks us either to give them an insane amount of dosh or to have a vendetta, I'm cool. But I don't think we should start wars ourselves - the AI will handle that in it's time, all we have to do is wait.

I drink to that!
Echinda, sorry I kept you waiting for your drink! Here's your gin martini, with some extra peanuts. That would be 0.0001 energy credits please.
I think I'll install a drink automat as I can't be present at all times.

Though I doubt you'll see me divert from that once I figure out how to make my own Cherry Pepsi on this new planet and start marketing it

Oh, of course it will... a new planet, few understood resources... differing ideals among factions... there's bound to be some scuffles, though I'm more of a attack if attacked kind of guy. That, and I don't want to have to constantly clone my children, thank you... I'd prefer to keep them in tip-top shape with the refresher pods...

And that's what the Uni gets for thinking that computers can rule their faction ... though you're probably right.

The Merchant Exchange officially had enough support to open up, so I think I'll grab my Pepsi and wander over there and see if there are any ideas floating around.

I have some nice Talisker, a gift from Lady Deirdre before Captain Markos has been murdered. Anyone fancy a drink ?
(Talisker is a scottish whisky, while Deirdre is a scottish faction leader... er, you know who Deirdre is)

Now, as I'm a Director of Foreign Affairs, it might not be too appropriate for me to "vetää aivan tajuttomat perseet" (a Finnish phrase... it pretty much means what it sounds like) here...
But since you do serve alcohol... I'll take a Chiron-Redberry-Cocktail. And keep it down to appropriate levels
