Name your favourite music track
It's time for something really useless in this forum
We've been discussing CtP2s music in this thread http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=60025
(also answer your question if you don't know how to listen to them, any CD Player program will do)
So which one do you like most?
------------------------------------------------
My vote goes to number 9, but the version in the intro movie right at the beginning is far the best one. As for #11 - whack!

Maybe you shouldve put the names and the country theyre from, like in the manual. Anyhoo my favourite is #4 Amaethon, Welsh (whatever that means).

You're right about that but that would require me to have the actual manual - I think it must be somewhere at my parents home in some cupboard... ->no chance

Just in case you want to know the according names of the music tracks, here are they directly copied from the English version of the GM1_ldl_str.txt:
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_1 "A Fortiori"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_2 "Pacari Tampu"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_3 "Amaethon"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_4 "A'tugewinu"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_5 "Summum Bonum"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_6 "Casus Belli"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_7 "Ankh Djet"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_8 "Shaolin San"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_9 "Quiet Outback"
str_tbl_ldl_Music_Track_10 "Kali Dance"
Of course you have to add one to each number, to have the according number in the poll here. For instance "A Fortiori" is in the poll track number 2.

edit: yep theres a pdf version of the manual in the ctp2 files section. Not much useful info in it though.

Yeah, the manual can be found here (tech tree is here or here (latter fan-made - by Maquiladora actually)) but as Maq says, it's not very useful. Almost as useless as the strategy guide... Then again, the strategy guide it thicker, it burns better
As far as the music goes: I have no idea, I don't know either the track names or the numbers by heart! I like that African drums thingie tough, or was that CtP1?

I haven't listened to CTP2's music in sooooooooooooo long! I think I played the first month with it on. I prefer listening to my own stuff through WinAmp.
So I can't vote as there's no "none".

i never heard of a piece called ShaoLin San... only ShaoLin Si
then again im not sure if si is 4 and san is 3 or si is monastery and san is mountain
oh yeah thats right ShaoLin Si means "monastery of the Young Forest"
no matter who u ask theres no ShaoLin San or ShaoLin Shan...
i still like it... i time all my moves to its climaxes...

Actually, I think that CTP's music tracks were better than CTP2, but that's just me.

I'm a total layman when it comes to Asian languages, but ain't Shaolin a martial art? I saw the Chinese movie 'Shaolin Soccer' a while ago - absolutely hilarious!

By the way I didn't burn my copy of Call to Power 2 or steal it. I just lost the manual when I was moving.
Just thought I would run that by you honest people.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the explanation, HuangShang.
You kidding me? I assume you saw it in Chinese? I wouldn't be surprised if the English version is even funnier: they deliberately messed up the subtitles, to make it look like a *really* poor and cheap C-movie - it's so bad that it's hilarious! (It goes without saying that that's by design, it actually ought to be an Oscar nominee for best comedy and most original movie (if there isn't such an award, they should create one just for this movie) )

I just realised: the Shaolin Soccer Theme makes for excellent CtP2 background music If anyone is interested, you can download it here (right-click and 'Save Target As' (1,731 kB)).

nice one Locutus!
It is a great tune, kinda reminds me of the opening theme from the movie 'Conan the barbarian'. Maybe you could :ahem: keep it for use in any future Mods?
