/me raises a very important point of interest
Would only the bananas themselves be golden, or the peels as well?

I suggest that citizens be allowed to nominate other citizens (unless they disagree) but not themselves.
My own nominations: I would have nominated Spiffor but he's a deputy minister. I would have nominated Sirotnikov for his website but it's not done yet. I think Aro deserves a lot of credit for the maps and everything so I'd like to nominate him if he doesn't mind.

Yes, no nominating yourself...
Banana's are YELLOW, but these will be made of gold, Silver, and Bronze for places 1,2, and 3.
(unless someone can come up with something more original)

I think first place should be gold PLATED as we all know banana is worth more than its weight in gold. That way if first place gets hungry, he can break the prize then eat its ooeygooey inards

this is a great move. Rewarding citizens for their outstanding work. We should do it monthly and give it to just 1 person. However, if we can't find any worthy effort during the month, we should look back at past months effort that were not awarded or don't give out any award. It's important that only the best is recognised .... we don't give it to any father, mother or son.
Which means I will never get any reward because I never contribute anything.

I would like to nominate Reddawg for his impressive work with the stats. And I would like to thanks you, Shiber, and say I’m very honored that you thought of me.
Btw, Shiber, I don’t mind…
Edit: here is the link .

"air o" is fine.
Edit after profound considerations: Hum... "arrow" with one "r" sounds more like Portuguese...

I would like to nominate Captain for the $Mini-game. (not an official anymore and Aro's been nominated twice...)
And I'd like to thank skywalker and civman2000 for nominating me.

If there was such a thing as "thirding" a nomination, I would do so for GenghisFarb. This guy keeps me honest ( at least occasionally thinking honest), and seems to post everywhere. Genghis is the critic that Presidents hate to be on the bad side of, yet if they are any good they appreciate highly ( ). I hope you stay "in opposition" forever - you personify the best ideas against almost all of which I have done so far. Such a member of the public is essential in this game.

Personally I don't think UnOrthOdOx would mind. We just have to keep the list to a max of 32, otherwise inserting all the names into a poll won't be possible.
Anyway, I suggest that once the list of candidates is closed we'll open a multi-voting poll (or whatever you call the polls with checkboxes instead of radio boxes) and ask everyone to vote for the three candidates he would like to see in the finals (we'll have to use the trust system here). The final poll will include the three candidates who got the most votes (if a few candidates tie we might have to include more than three in the final poll though) and will be a regular, single pick poll.

Also, I suggest that each candidate writes a short essay on why we should vote for him, listing his contributions to the game and so on. The essays will be pasted into or linked to from the first post in the poll threads.

That's a good reason...
So, I would like to nominate Skywalker, for all the roleplaying (and for the 100,000,000 bananas he gave to me yesterday... Just kidding!).
Edit: Shiber, a short essay??? With my handicapped English? This will be hard!

I went on a HUGE posting spree right after Persia and Germany declared war. Everyone was wanting to form alliances with everyone and didn't see how unneccessary they were.
I think I posted 30-40 times in a 3 hour period before everyone finally began to realize it wasn't the end of the world.
Oh, and THE reason I joined the Democracy game was based on a little advice from Ming, "..if you want to get your post count up, join a Democracy game. Stuff that would be spam anywhere else tends to slide by as 'roleplay'.............."
THREE MONTHS OF POSTING AND ONLY 38 POSTS TILL KING.

That's easy: the $mini-game threads.
Thanks for nominating me UnOrtho, I was beginning to think everybody hates me.
