Official: Second Tech (Correct)
i'm polling this now so that we have a back up tech in case we get centauri ecology from a pod before it's done, or we get deirdre's or zak's commlink from a pod and they trade us. if neither of these situations arise, we will use this as our second tech. with centauri ecology as our first tech, and industrial automation and social psych unavailable, your choices are: - Doctrine: Mobility - Speeder (M2) Command Centre. Leads to Doctrine: Loyalty, Doctrine: Flexibility
- Information Networks - Network Node. Leads to Planetary Networks, Polymorphic Software
- Applied Physics - Laser (A2). Leads to Nonlinear Mathematics, High Energy Chemistry
PS: If for some bizarre reason, social psych or industrial base come up as a choice, we'll think of something then. Thanks to Z7 for bringing this to my attention. See here for more details.
You have 3 days.

Perhaps worth mentioning a few things these techs are prerequisites to?
So Mobility leads us to Loyalty, with Perimeter Defenses and the Command Nexus.
Information Networks leads to Planetary Networks, with Probes, Librarians, Virtual World, and the PLANNED Economic choice (Planetary Networks is needed for Automation!)
Aplied Physics, well, we need for other war stuff, prerequisite of Non-linear Mathematics (Impact Rifle), IIRC

InfoNet. Artifacts are too cool to stockpile. And if IndAuto is half as cool as everyone believes, it is like in Civ2 turning down Trade to go for Mysticism or Bridge Building!
