Leonardo's Workshop question
Is there a way to make Leonardo's Workshop continually upgrade units all the way through to the modern time? I'm using HiRes mod pack with the WWII senario. I have so many regular tanks that I would like to be upgraded to Heavy Armor. Thanks in advance.

A very good question to which I do not know the answer, but have you tried changing the expiration technology on the workshop in the rules.txt file from its current setting of Aut to nil which would stop the WoW from expiring?

Even then, it would only work if the obsolete tech for regular tanks is the same as the preq tech for heavy armor. Once you make sure of that, get a tech advance (even future techs work fine).
Remember, if those tanks are veterans, upgrading will cause them to revert to non-veteran status.

I thought the unit you upgraded to had to follow the unit you upgraded from in the list of units for it to be done automatically? That is, be the first non obsolete unit following your unit in the rules.txt list.

Nope, it's as SG[1] and Vlad said...
But both units should also have the same roles (attack, defense, air superiority and the like).

Example.
Early Infantry,.........NP, 0 , 2.,0, 8a, 5d, 1h,1f, 7,0, 1 ,Gun, 000100001000000
Advanced Infantry,...FP, 0 , 2.,0, 12a, 8d, 1h,1f, 4,0, 1 , NP, 000100001000000
Late Infantry,.........Sth, 0 , 2.,0, 18a,12d, 1h,1f, 4,0, 1 , FP, 000100001000000
Modern Infantry,......no, 0 , 2.,0, 27a,18d, 1h,1f, 4,0, 1 ,Sth, 000100001000000
The ancessor unit became obsoelete when the prerequisite advance for the newer unit has been researched.

Yes, it's like why horsemen won't upgrade to crusaders without chivalry since chivalry is what makes horsemen obsolete.

So
Advanced Infantry,...FP, 0 , 2.,0, 12a, 8d, 1h,1f, 4,0, 1 , NP, 000100001000000
Early Infantry,.........NP, 0 , 2.,0, 8a, 5d, 1h,1f, 7,0, 1 ,Gun, 000100001000000
in that order should work too?
Or was the auto upgrade only for orders in cities changing automatically?
