I'm not sure, a CRAPPY DAY.
It's a bloody Friday here at work.
I just had to terminate one of my staff that had been here 32 years. He was only one or two years away from retiring. Many other old timers are being released.
This is one of those days where it "sucks" to be boss.
I feel awful. I feel like I betrayed their trust.

Yes, they bypass all the unlawful termination laws by calling it a RIF. (reduction in force) It has to be a decent size group to get away with it. This way, no individual action can be taken. It's not a question of ability or any other characteristic. This one concentrated on the longer termed emplyees since they are higher salaries that will help the bottom line with fewest cuts.
Sometimes I hate the "BOTTOM LINE" crap. We're dealing with people here. *sigh*

RIF and not early retirement pakage?
Man, that's cold. I just had to slash 6 percent, but was allowed to decide for myself whether it would be programs or ppl.
Needless to say, I did the same thing you would have preferred, Rich -- stayed loyal to my troops. Hope next week is better for you...

Back from LA and badly in need of returning to my "normal" life. Ming, I'll be there with a 12-pack at the usual time.

They are my favorite fast food joint. And yes, we've done the Double Cheese a few times. When I go in by myself, they just ring it up without asking my order... two double's...

When I went into Culvers for the first time, it reminded me of the first time I ate at a Wendy's. However, Wendy's went down hill quickly... I hope the same doesn't happen to Culvers as they grow.
Behold the power of grease...

Behold the power of quality meat that hasn't been frozen! THAT's what really tastes different.
Nice buns, too...

ok...the telus dude came by, found the root of my evil, and installed a new jack in my apartment for free....apparently the wiring was unstable, he told me i was lucky not to have a fire actually....plus they gave me three months free.....
so that means NO MORE DROPS!!!!!!!!!!
perhaps when i farted, the wiring moved and thus disconnected me...... cuz i tell you...i thought of every possiblity in the book....and still couldn't figure it out
