will i be able to do that that with the new"ptw" editor?
i was thinking of adding chemical and biological warheads to missile.
when lunched at enemy forces it will make x amount of immediate damage to them, and the tile that got the shot will be polluted with the chemical or the biological material (ill add green smoke animation on top of it).
every unit that will stay in that tile will start to loose health points (each turn it stays on it losses x amount of health) until it will die.units that only passing threw that tile will loose one(or 2) health points.
i would like to set the number of turns in wich the pollution stays in the tile, and how much damage its doing to units.(maybe have fading effect like doing more damage in the first turns , and in the 2 or 3 last turns make the damage half cause the active material-biological/chemical is getting weaker.)
the possibilities of new war strategies with that are exciting, like making a barrier of pulotted tiles to slow/stop enemy units from passing by.
so the question is, could i make it with the new editor of "ptw"?

I'd love to see it but my gut tells me they've done all they're ever going to with the editor. Shame really...

Maybe ive been irreparably scarred by Activision but i feel they wont do anymore work on the editor either. Although you could do that chemical thing with CtP2, i would think.

Why do you think that? They've made an update to the editor every patch for the last year?

I beleive they were supporting the product in order to encourage us to buy PtW. That is all well and good but after PtW is released they won't have that incentive any more will they? Thus it seems less likely Civ3 will continue to recieve support.

Do you know how many expansions Civ 2 had?
3 at least.

That's true. There were many years before FW, the only real scenario editor. Civ2 was just as deficient until FW.

Firaxis has much better than average support for a games company. I mean they just put out a patch to Gettysburg to have it run under XP. There was no monetary reason for that.

i never tried to run gettysburg in XP, but can't you just set the "compatibility" options to win98? it works for all my old DOS games..
