I'm really glad to see it's not a tiny island.
That hill with the gold could be a great spot for establishing a town. Same with the site south of the tile with the cattle and the tile northeast of the wheat tile.

One square nw of where the spearman sits looks like a really good city site.
Has gold, whale and cattle within city radius, fairly close to capital which should allow for productivity and then we could use it to build worker/settlers and troops to colonize south.

I agree. First build is grainery, so we can keep up with workers and settlers. Second city do barricks and provide defensive units, third city port to connect to lux. All cities after that who knows - this could be huge for us.

i knew it would be good, only this is even nicer than i expected... beautiful land, raelly. but the first city should be directly on the hill! any other place and we miss out on some of the land. then the second city 2 tiles NE of the current boat position, and then the third further south towards the wheat... awesome.
i wonder how long the Isle stretches on.

I suggest that instead of risking any more galleys we produce everything Uber Isle needs in Uber Isle. Now that we can use paid labor we can rush a granary, settlers, workers and garrison units instead of having to transport them from the mainland.

It's a good idea.
Btw, I think is better not to trade WM for awhile.

Here's a pic of the city site I proposed earlier. Has the cow AND gold in initial radius and will expand to include the whale and connect cultural influence areas with Apolyton.

Crap - I did forget about that. This will be a prime area as we probably will only have part of it occupied. Crap again.
Looks like we might want to do some rush construction to get things moving.

Very nice. How soon can we get another Settler over there?
If it is sizeable enough, as it appears, we will likely find more people's.

True, no point in inviting guests.
We should risk at least a settler and garrison to build second city as soon as possible, then we can start building up the land.

Ghengis: I support your proposal for the first city site. It's much better than settling on the hill IMHO.
After we establish this site we should rush the following:
- A granary (so we'll get to 2 citizens as soon as possible so we could establish another city).
- A warrior (to explore the inland and serve as a garrison unit later. Workers are effective enough against barbarians IMHO).
- A settler.
- Workers.
- A harbor, once we have astronomy (so we could bring goods to Uber Isle).

The great thing about that site barbarian wise it that if we defend the cow the barbarians can't get through.
"All right men, we can't let them have the cow. It's just that simple. Think of the women and children behind us, for ***'* sake think of the kittens....."
I see hills.....
I really hope we find another Iron, with Knights/Pikemen coming up an extra Iron should be a really hot trading commodity.
What's we going to name it. Suggest something "Rock" like Plymouth Rock where the pilgrims landed. (Did they actually land there? Why'd anybody want to settle a rock?)
Uber Rock, Banana Rock, Ghengis Rock , Cattle Rock.......

Awesome, Uber Isle isn't just some rock in the middle of nowhere, but a real deal island! I Actually, it is Uber Island now, as it is too big to be considered an "isle". Hopefully we can beat the AI to colonizing the place, and get it all to ourselves. We should build a second settler and spearman immediately, to try and capitalize on the situation. With luck, we might even find some luxuries or resources there!

Is this going to fall under a Region Administrator or will we create a Colonial Governor position for someone to cultivate and defend it from Barbarians?

With its size, I think it definately calls for an administrator. If the other ministers agree to vest powers in the administrator as well, that will make it its own little territory.....
Just thinking out loud.
Will post tonight or tomarrow with something formal. Want to look at the download first.

I suggest that BHq build a settler for the isalnd, we could upograde the spear to pike and move it too. One more city there would really help.

Would it be ok if BHQ built a granary first. It would only take about 9 turnsand then it could build some workers aswell.

I second that. I say the site Ghengis proposed should be where we shall establish our first city overseas!
