Logo Contest
Something I've been wanting to announce for a goodish while now, but in light of the fact that we weren't officially a company just yet, it seemed premature.
It doesn't seem premature anymore, sooooo.....
Announcing the first VelociGames Contest!
So....we're a brand new company....a little fish in a pond filled up with much bigger fish....and we need a way to identify ourselves as a fiercely independent, free-spirited, do-stuff-our-own-d@mn way, little fish....and what better way to do that than with a logo!
(comment from the gallery: Great Idea, Vel....so where is it?)
Trouble is....we have no logo....so....we'll have a contest for one!
Contest will run till the end of this year, winner gets a free copy of the game when it's ready (comment from the gallery: whooohoooo!@ Big incentive, since it's free anyway!...Keep going!), a free, custom made "snackage package" delivered to your door, and a cash prize of $200. Yeah, I know....not much of a fortune, but again, we're a little fish! What were you expecting....Ed McMahon and the Prize Patrol??
As far as the logo goes....I dunno....but I'll know when I see it. If you're looking for inspiration or wanting to kick some ideas around, write to me at:
WebMaster@velocigames.every1.net
Put LogoContest in the subject line, so I know what it is.
Send all entries to:
Velocigames2002@aol.com
And that should do it!

Maybe this could be submitted to Dan or Markos as being newsworthy given the prize?

By virtue of being the only entrant so far, that $200 is as good as mine!!
It has potential...

Well, I think the Velocigames logo should incorporate a tribute to the man who started it all. I suggest this:
__________________
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR.
"I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

Good question, Ghengis! And I would say that since CB and related games will be our hallmark for the foreseeable future, a fantasy theme would be tops!

Some interesting stuff here so far! at the pic of BR!

Be innovative in more ways than one? How about an active holo sticker? The media is the message, after all!

How many are we allowed to submitt? Because for $200 I'm willing to do a ton of them to increase my chances. And are you going to be critiquing them before the contest ends? By that I mean are you going to make suggestions as to how we can improve them? Like the current one I'm submitting I'm not sure how big you would like to have the colors or what background color you would like to have. Are you going to give any suggestions on any of that?
EDIT: i screwed up and now the pic is way down there...

As to submissions, you can submit as many as you like!
Critiques and sugesstions....let me think on that....if so (and that's a good idea, cos it'll mean shaping and refining the idea of the image as we go), then I'll do it here so as to keep a "level playing field"....gonna look over the ones we've got so far and do some pondering....

Geez, Markos, we're not a chessboard company...
BustaMike, I liked your first font better. Try putting the first font on the last backround...

I liked the first font better too but it didn't seem big enough. I think I need to find somewhere to download more fonts because I don't really seem to have the right one for a fantasy style logo. I want it to have some kind of medieval look but can't quite do it with the fonts I have.
