Actually, I really like the sundial. It has the right feel to it.

Yeah, I agree. With the sun reflection it can make a V shape as well, or something. Definately has potential.

Actually, it has the potential to make both the V and the G.
Look closer grasshopper!

One minor point though (somehow I just had to contradict RPM ): If Vel gets his ways, VelociGames is going to be larger then Candle'Bre, and even if the sundial is a perfect reference here, it might not be for an upcoming game. I liked the speed references better (But hey, who am I to comment)

The sundial would work as a logo regardless of the Candle'Bre game IMHO.
RPM is right ( ), if a V and G can be made obvious then it would serve very well as a corporate logo. Some of the other entries are very spectacular (like JMarks' excellent new one), but they might be a bit too complicated ... I dunno.

FP, how'd you know I was going for complicated?
Not just complicated, intricate weaving of colors and shapes. One must achieve the perfect balance of transparency...
Speaking of which, I'm not done toying with it, it can be much better along those lines.
In turn, I do like the sun dile idea. In fact, I like the vectors one too, just need to have the shadow, not of a V, but of a G...
Will work more on this when I'm done with whatever pressing project I have to work on. I believe it is my turn to do up the class notes in Koine.

NeOmega, great ideas! Those dices sure look interesting! It symboliizes many things, the game aspect, the TBS aspect, the computer aspect, and even supports a V... they are definately my favourites so far.

Man, NeO, you're pumping these things out like rabits on fertility drugs. Don't you have school or anything to take up your time?
Keep up the good work!

well, I need to restart completely. For some reason I completely forgot the first stage of any of my good work.
Sketching tons of ideas out on paper first. Instead I went gungho with the computer. Silly me.
The dice are cool, save for the possible conotations to gambling. People might wonder why a gambling softwar company brached out into fantasy strategy...

I vote for the sundial idea. We can animate that with a high degree of coolness. You know, the shadow spinning around and around, then a flash of light, and the shadow is in the v-position... it has potential.

I'll say. It makes me think of the Japanese katakana "hi." What're the two blue boxes for?

Actually, there are three boxes, but the bottom one is covered up too much. Its supposed to be a golden rectangle, giving perfect perportion to the VG. The bottom two form a square split, off of which you make an arc from there to make the perportion of the top rectangle. All together they form a perfectly perportional rectangle, or whatever. That explains the rectangles and the messy arcs But as it isn't clear enough, back to the drawing board

Well, its quite interesting, and the golden rectangle aspect certainly is clearer now, but I'm not sure we should go with it (the boxes) if an explanation is needed too...
Question: What happens if you make the V and G more distinct, i.e. making them different colors or something so they are connected but immediatly recognizable as two letters?

That and the sundial are very groovy, I have to say. I like the concept of being able to turn the sundial into a movie logo, though - with the shadow and/or camera rotating until it becomes both a V and a G at once...
cyclo - new sig-line? It's a Magic quote, but can I remember which one? Not immediately, no.
