DC, where do you live?
it seems that our system sees you as being in USA/Canada
(try this link http://apolyton.net/ads/adjs.php?clientID=9&noads=1) and you get the RealMedia ads which contain some (uncontrolled by us) level of pop-ups
Switching to a special or ultra-special style would give you only a specific number of (apolyton controlled) pop-ups

We now have a double-check(cookies and database) system to ensure visitors dont get the "1 popup per page" effect. this of course only for Apolyton-served pop-ups and IF you have a special/ultra special style
If you have a default style and get the US ads(click here to find out) you should change to a special or ultra special style in order to avoid them

Markos, I just want to make sure that this is the best option for you guys. I am on default option since I use Mozilla and block popups. Is default the best option for you guys to maintain the site in my case?

I can now accept 'poly popups actual I don't get so much of them, and even if I close it before it is loaded Markos is paid. So they are ok, actual Markos reduced the number of ads for Netscape 4.78 users. All the banners are gone.
And by the way Markos your java script then should tell me from which country I am doesn't work in Netscape 4.78. I find in the bottom line:
JavaScript error: 'javascript :' into Location for details

tniem, if you block pop-ups and you'll also probably dont click on any ads either. that means you're most probably generating 0$ income for us.
thanks for wanting to support us though

Unfortunatly I don't get any pop ups in Netscape 4.78 or Mozilla 1.1, open not demanded windows (or how this is called in the English version) is enabled, so I should get pop ups if I use the standart style for guests. In Netscape 4.78 also all the banners disappeared. I think you shouldn't sacrifice the ads for server load speed.

Well when I bought WarCraft III, I clicked through the Apolyton link at the bottom, so that should have generated some income, right?
I will make sure the Apolyton T-shirt is on my christmas.

That's by far my favorite ad...
If the server sees instantly, that I'm unworthy to be addressed by the offer, why the heck does it send it to me?

Does anyone *ever* bother to mail and say something like "I think I received this in error".
Don't see it happening.

Erm, DrSpike, did you really just suggest to pass one's email address to an advertising company at free will? Who would be so foolish?

No. I questioned whether anyone would do that. Read more carefully.

Mark - more information about the popup/under on upload as requested...
This time I got:
A pop-up from MyDiveBook.com that itself carried an advert bringing up a "Security alert" slide over - this eventually went away, but at 'normal' speed of things needed closing
A popunder from A1DiscountVacations
No warning messages this time
Hope this helps

hi ,
from the pop-up , not the one where it hops around in the mydivebook pop up , but from the one that pops after you are logged in , ...... the little bug tried to alter the starting page and wanted to install some program , ... that one did not fly , ....
had the alter of starting page ones , the program a couple times , most of the times it does not do it , .....
sometimes when you try to close the pop up a new window in the browser opens and you got that program that wants to install itself , ....
while posting this message mydivebook came with the spywarenuker moving across , ten seconds later the regular spynuker pop up , no programs , .....
have a nice day
