[HELP!] Saving TCP/IP games
Is it possible to save and resume TCP/IP SMAC or SMAX games?

I remember trying to a while ago but never found a way to do it. Did a quick search and found nothing so sorry if it has been asked before or if the answer is too obvious .

Sure you can save them!

Save them just as you would any game, with the menu command. To resume, you click on the type of game line in the upper left panel of the lobby screen. A pop up menu appears. Select Load Saved Game (or something close to that. You can then select games from your save folder, just as if you had selected 'Load Game' on the Single Player main menu.

As a practical consideration, given the instablility of SMAC IP, saving frequently is a VERY GOOD IDEA. Do not use the Iron Man setting. If you do so, whenever the game is saved, everybody gets dropped and the program terminates.

Also if the game does crash and burn (or some other nastiness happens) you can recover from autosaves...
