Please do not write part or version of the game in your vote. Write MOO instead of MOO-2 etc.

1. SMAC
2. Diablo 2
3. Morrowind
4. Frontier (although man was it hard)
5. X-Wing Alliance
These are a tad arbitrary, mind, except the first two and a half.
Oh, and you can't make a thread sticky just by calling it "Top:"

1. Mario
2. WarCraft
3. Castlevania
4. SimCity and associated
5. Civilization
Sorry Civilization, but there's just no way to compete with Mario or WarCraft. The classics are the best.
Edit: How could I forget Castlevania? Killing Dracula was never so much fun. Final Fantasy would be up there if it wasn't so damn hard.

1. SMAC
2. Fallout series
3. Space Empires 4
4. Sim City series
5. Hitman
either of the top 4 could actually be no. 1 with me, Hitman is just 5th because i'm not really into FPS, but that game isn't a standard gun-blazing FPS.

Oh yeah, I forgot that series. Very nice gameplay.
It annoyed me though because I bought Settlers 2, and then a month later saw Settlers 2 Gold Edition (with a map editor) for exactly the same price I had payed for it.

I hope you mean that it has no serious competitors in this survey, not that you are removing it from the competition.

2. Heroes of might and magic.
3. master of orion
4. diablo
5. monkey island

1. quake (qw/cpma)
2. civilization (civ1)
3. simcity (original simcity)
4. deus ex
5. ogre battle - the snes original (same series as tactics ogre but i don't consider them to be the same type of game even if they are in the same series)
i've spent probably 5x as much time in the quake series, playing against people online, as all the time i've spent playing other games.

Axi, GTA 3 felched GTA 2 judiciously. I'm guessing you haven't played it.
Only thing GTA 2 had was multiplayer, I think, and a slightly less linear storyline.
Actually GTA 3 was worse, but looked a lot better.
