Hmm, I had that game on the ole Apple II C (embarrassed to admit that one!) I think it was actually Magic v Bird (though my mind is saying Dr. J v Bird but that would be a bit off time wise i reckon)
and yes, that game was pretty cool, breaking the glass.
But does it top double dribble for the NES where you could dunk from the 3 point line?

Nothing beats the NES. Except possibly the Super NES. But not all the time.

Yes, they are. Lots of people voted for Final Fantasy. Very good call on Soul Edge, btw, that's still the best fighting game I've ever played.

M.U.L.E. stands for Multiple-Use Labour Element, a unique game which mixes action, economy development, cooperation, and competition. It was initially developed for the Atari computers and was later ported to the C-64.
World of M.U.L.E.
There is a Wintel "port" called Space HOrSE available from Shrapnel Games

No game has come close to being as replayable as Civ2 (for me). Not even SMAC - in fact I've racked up about 2 days of SMAC, 1 day of Civ3 and about a week of the CtPs. Compare this to many months of Civ2 and Civ1.
EU is good and playable, but is not as encompassing as Civ.
There have been good games in other fields... but none in the sphere of TBS.

WHAT??? I'm the only fan of the marvelously rich atmosphere of Prince of Persia, a game who's graphics were far ahead of its time, and possesed a timeless gameplay???
And what of myth? Five years before warcraft 3, a supposedly "3D" game, there was this, a game in which terrain height actually MATTERED, and the plot was zounds better… The tactics of this game were unparalelled, and they were right to do away with all that nasty mineral/gold grabbing stuff.

myth??? I once borrowed myth from a friend, but it doesn't sound like the myth you're talking about...myth was nothing near warcraft...it wasn't even strategy...You just had a guy, (or girl...don't know, you saw it from the persons eye)...You could go different places...(maybe in a 3D world...don't remember), but you couldn't just "go" as in fps, you could click on the screen, were you'd want to go...Or something like that...don't remember...I deleted the game within an hour...
