You think you will get one?
Not as long as you just are mod in an OnTopic forum. There you just pass any bad threads over to the OT where the big mods live (or you close them before anything really bad starts) And if, doubtly, anything bad should happen you still can have Ming toi do the dirty work.

Sssst, I don't want info on that to spread too much - keeping open the possibility of being able to ban gives me a weapon to control my subjects

I don't think so. But I can close and delete as many posts and threads as I want (within the CtP2 forums) - and I have a direct line with Ming and the admins

You never know, you never know. With MTG cutting back on the time he spends here, Ming will need all the extra help he can get. The future is always unknown.

It *is* about time. You've been the unofficial mainstay of the CTP2 forums for well over a year.

You might get one as you are OT mod, but that a section mod would get one is a very little chance, unless the section activity goes very high, and stays there.

I have no aspirations of ever getting a banning rod. I have better things to do than to deal with the messed up characters I so much enjoy reading about in the Ban Log (as a passive bystander)...
Thanks Peter

Personally I'd like to expand to a few of the CIV forums to help Ming out. I figure I'm actually interested in reading what goes on in those.

Smart man... That way, you don't have to deal with them to infect your home computer with viruses... spamming your email account... people signing up for porn sites using your email address... all the fun stuff we have to put with when we ban somebody
But I will admit, some of the PM's I get are simply to funny to believe

Actual this is not funny, even my email address was signed up for a porn side It just happend once, but it is still unwanted mail. Maybe I should remove my email address from my homepage...
Fourth:This thread is full of mods maybe adding some modmakers is also a good idea. I see here a big advantage here if you are a mod and a modmaker. So congratulations to Wouter again.

My God! Have individuals actually done this to you?
If you have to put up with this type of activity, I do believe that I've discovered a new-found respect for you...

All the time... they once even set up a Ming Hate Site so they could talk about their petty revenges...
I've had to wipe my hard drive twice because of viruses... (needless to say, I have much better security now) And I won't even tell you how many porn sites have my email address... But somebody has to do the job

I get tons of spam (including porn) and crap like that on my public accounts as well (both my Apolyton account and my old student.utwente.nl account, which I still have for personal use). Not quite as bad as Ming, but still enough to annoy the heck out of me. It's the price of having your products available to the entire (online) world, I suppose...

No, no, no! It's a fine tradition to try out your powers while under attack...like the player-character desperately pointing a new wand at an attacking ogre, and causing pretty flowers to sprout from the ogre. (Speaking of off-topic...)
Congrats, Locutus!
Didn't step back fast enough, AGAIN!

About time i think!
Congrats
As was mentioned above you've really held this forum together for ages.
One thing worries me a little.............How are you going to find the time to carry on Modding!? In terms of the CTP2 i now play - it's your work(and others) that mean i still play + enjoy this game.
Please don't forsake the modding
Not to mention RL?? Maybe you should clone yourself now

That reminds me to reread the CONCEPT_FUTURE in my Great Library, and I see that the English version is on the level of a robot translations, well I have to fix this.

I wouldn't call it tons of spam but it is enough I even got a virus, it went into the dustbin before it was able to cause damage. It came from an email adress called hahaha@sexyfun.net. I was currious if www.sexfun.net is a valid url, and indeed it is. Some guy decided to make this url reality and put some helpful information on it. About virus but also AntiSpam.

Congrats Locutus.Use your new powers wisely
BTW,I've heard you can get some decent upgrades on your banstick, such as electrified barb wire and tranquilliser darts attached.Don't think you'll need it much in here though...from what I've seen the CTP2 Forums are pretty civilised compared to Off-Topic.........

You mean you hadn't noticed my decline in modding yet? This moderatorship thingie doesn't really change much, I've been doing stuff around the site for a long time now (tournaments, succession games, news, unofficial moderation, etc) - that's taken away a LOT of time from modding. No, I really don't like this but until I started doing the stuff I'm doing, nobody was doing it - and it's got to be done. What good are the mods if noone's left to play them?
It's with pain in my heart that I'm devoting less time to modding (as you no doubt know I'm still bursting with ambitious ideas), but I have to admit doing all this stuff around the site and everything is kinda fun as well...
