In Mememoriam- one year anniversary
It is now the 11th of September in DC, NY, and Pennsylvania where the attacks took place. Let us all remember this day those who were the victims of this horrible atrocity.

i've been hearing about this all week...but it just doesn't seem like it's been a year...
My heart felt sympathy to anyone who lost during this tragedy...my hopes that we can deal with this rationally and justly.

I have topped this thread... Please use this thread as it was intended... While there are many different opinions on who is to blame... who is at fault... was it justified... the need for revenge... what type of revenge... whatever...
THIS ISN'T THE THREAD FOR IT!
My heart goes out to all those the suffered the loss of a loved one on that tragic day...

My thoughts are with all those who lost loved ones as well.
But live your lives, people. That's the key: only in living can we defeat death--maybe not defeat it, but hold it at arm's length.
And only by being fearless can we keep away terror.
Do your thing...I'll be flying across the country on Thursday...aint no bad man gonna keep us down!

Watching the WTC collapse live on television, and knowing that thousands of my fellow human beings had just died before my eyes isn't something I'll forget soon.

Today my thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims of those horrible attacks. I hope you can pull through today and be even stronger when the day is over.

What happend one year ago today was extremly horrific. Watching two planes ram into those tall towers, knowing and watching people jump over the towers....It was incredibly sad.
Today, my heart goes out to all the victims (not just dead ones) of this terrible tragedy.

I remember that scene (which I saw on tv) for the rest of my life. It was horrible.

It's been pretty tough seeing all the coverage today, there was a lot more than I thought there would be. I'll probably hang out with my woman tomorrow and avoid the TV. I teared up countless times last year as the family members of the dead were interviewed, stunned survivors looked desperately for the missing etc. It made me sad, and angry enough to lose touch with much of my logical side at times. I've seen enough already to remember those feelings and my resolve to destroy the enemy is strengthened enough to last the rest of my life.

I'll think about the people today. People from all over the world who died and those they left behind. And Americans who are dealing with it. God bless.

May God bless the lives of the people who suffered a great loss on 9/11. My sincerest sympathy goes out to the people who relive this tragedy every day and may, on this day especially, have to see the tragedy that so affected them replayed over and over again. I can only hope that legacy of those who died will promote positive change throughout the world. I long with you for the day that peace will reign on this earth.

I sometimes see those images of the attack on the WTC, and even after a year they haven't lost a bit of their impact...I still get shivers when I see the explosion, the collapse, the city in dust and the ruins that remained...it was black day.
Next to the site where the WTC used to be there’s a church on the fence of which people, the families they left behind, friends, co-workers, sympathizers… have hung memorials, pictures, clothes with expressions of sympathy, flags and sometimes a drawing like this one
May all the victims who died that day rest in peace.

The most horrible sights for me were seeing those people who leaped from the towers ... the image that sticks with me a lot is the one where three or so office workers had linked hands and jumped together ... at least I think I'm remembering it right. Then they had footage captured by someone else ... and you could hear the awful *roar* of the second jet as it swept overhead and into the WTC. It just stuns me yet today ... that I watched hundreds of people die in that instant.

The thing about September 11th, it doesn't matter if your a firefighter, a doctor, a shop assistant, a drug dealer, a soldier, a bus driver, you were all affected in some way by September 11th.
The gap in the New York skyline resembles the gap in our lives. It is a day we want to forget. But it is a day we must remember.
It's a horrible thought when you think of people crushed by scrap metal, jumping over 100 stories.
September 11th is a day which changed history forever. May we change history for the better next time.

My sympathies go out to all the people who have lost loved ones, the American people as a whole who've fought back after such a tragedy, and to everyone around the world who knew people who gave their lives.
This is for you Daniel: RIP 9/11/01 - 88th floor North tower.

My condolences to the families left behind. I'm also thinking about my own family who were in Pittsburgh PA, when the plane chrashed.
I hope the USA continue their fight against terrorism all over the world. I wholeheartedly support it.

This is a sad day. Condolences to all those people that have lost loved ones on that terrible tragedy. Let's only hope that what happened one year ago may open the eyes of all those who govern us, so that we may become more tolerant and friendly with each other around the world.

GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!
May his comfort and strength be with each and every one of our Service Men and Women, our President and his staff, men, women and children everywhere, and especially with those who lost family and loved ones on this date one year ago.
Personally, I have very dear friends who live and work near the towers and Pentagon. Thank God that they are all alive and well today.
