I played in a game with Deity Dude.
And it wasn't long before I really wanted to hurt him.

I always try to destroy his cities and kill his units, figuring his turns won't take as long then.

Never let Deity Dude build the map - reaching his civ is like travelling to another solar system.

You are right!
But I like the settings (map a bit big though)
With just tri's I've been lucky enough to link islands across most of the southern hemisphere - he's in the north of course and I started on the pole!

Sounds like another of Deity Dude's "South Pacific" maps
I know what's going to happen here. In the end you 2 are going to forget about each other entirely.

 VERY Good.
I want to see the signin menu so we can see that they have fewer units than cities.

Boy, I never thought there would be such interest in a duel between Deity and me.
OK, since there is here's a little history.
Deity and I have tried, unsuccessfully, to get a long term 5-7 man game going but we always seem to show. In addition, despite our time zone differences, we always run into each other on ICQ and usually have a brief chat. So i suggested large map island duel, 5 turns per session. I figured we could take a few turns every night while we chatted. Well, everything is going as planned, except the 5 turns per session (60ad first session)
I see some of you making light of the game but it really is quite enjoyable. Its more about exploration and civ building then early war. But when we do meet it will be fun to use some of those advanced units that I havnt seen since SP days.
Settings are 1x1x deity - no wonders except Apollo and no city bribe. (we need to talk about Spies and Nukes Deity, because it looks like this game will get there.)
It's pretty even right now with Deity mildly ahead on the PG but me catching up. I am expecting another Deity surge however, as he celebrates up to 12 and leaves me in the dust at 8. At least until I can get construction and build 20 or so aquaducts
Anyways - see you soon Deity (God of the South)
