Tibetian Monk Leaderhead Preview
Here's a preview of frames 1, 61, and 121.
The question is, what changes over the ages? Monks are pretty much the same now as 2000 years ago aren't they?
Any ideas?

Maybe if you leave the monk as is and evolve the background.
Put a Medieval Castle on the hill, maybe cut the trees of, highway tunnel, high skycrapers with lots of infrastructure around...

Don't have anything change. It might be cool to see them never change. It real monks didn't change then the ones in the game don't need to either.

I agree, change the clothes or put a temple in the background that sort of thing... one thing though, I know the Dalai Lama is very nice looking today, in the past they were warlike, maybe touch up on his mean side - make him look more stern - vulcan like - know what I mean? (or have I been watching too much star trek again?? )
once again, fanatastic work!

Maybe he could get eyeglasses in the industrial/modern era.
Or maybe not, because it's pathetic, and Gandhi has too.

FYI
Tibetian monks wear a deep yellow (marigold/goldenrod) and red robes..
See these links for ideas

PS.. You can give the monk glasses in the modern era.

Looks good! For the modern age you could add an image of a passenger jet high in the sky, nothing flashy just visible and subtle.

How about a sand painting in the background that fills in over the ages. Maybe it will be blank in the modern age because it was finished at the end of the industrial age and destroyed.

Looks good.
As for suggestions for change:
- Use as is for ancient era
- Add a little building on the mountain for midieval era. A castle wouldn't work well, but maybe a pagoda, or something.
- Expand the pagoda for the industrial era. And maybe add something very subtle to it, that would indicate industrialism. Maybe some smoke coming up from the background, as if a small train was there?
- For the modern era, draw a jet trace in the sky, and give the guy glasses.

Give him glasses in the industrial era, make them into contacts for the modern era.

And for us to be able to tell that he is actually wearing contacts, they would have to either be some unnatural color - like red or yellow, or shape the pupil differently...
Now, I think it is worth to do a research to find out how many Tibetan Monks have poor eyesight.

Just glasses would be fine. The Dalai Lama has glasses. Tibetan monks haven't changed their lifestyle all that much for centuries, which is a good thing, all things considered...

Change the robe. First have it as is, then go more elaborate and a different colour, then something else, then finish off with a fancy dark red robe with gold trim and all that stuff. Changing the background would be good too.

For the Ancient and Middle Ages, have a pagoda in the background and then for the Industrial and Modern Ages, change it into the Potala Palace.

Or perhaps for the modern era have him standing in a nice peaceful garden, with Bhudist Temple (did I spell Bhudist right? And Tibet is Bhudist?) et all, but have in the background as if he's in the middle of some metropolis...just like many temples are in real life.
But I wouldn't have his robe become elaborate or anything...modern monks still wear modest, simple robes (at least the one's I've seen).
Oh yeah, and don't skimp on the incense either
