You created a login here, just so you could say that your are going to go do something?
You're right, you do need something to do.

Actually, I had another login, but I can't even remember what it was. Needless to say, I don't use it very often.

Because they want CFC back, just as CFC gets poly traffic when poly goes down.
Mark and Dan allow CFC posters to come and ask, just as we return that favor.

Forgive my ignorance, but since CFC is still down I can't look it up, but what's a Training Day game? It sounds interesting, if that's true and it's suitable for CtP1/2, I might set one up here

Very true.
You're away for a day and nothing is as it used to be, which is very confusing.
Any news about the status?

Hi everyone!
A little good news:
The CivFanatics main site can be accessed by going to this alternative URL:
http://civ.strategy-gaming.com
All the stuff on the main site can be accessed there, but not the forum.
At the moment we are still trying to re-register the domain. Domain registration usually doesn't take this long but our direct host (Strategy Gaming Online) forgot his login for the domain manager so he had to email support for login info. It's really frustrating.
After the domain is renewed, the first thing I will do is to transfer the domain under my direct control.

When do you think the forums will be up?
I have a PBEM I'm just aching to continue.

I can update the main site w/o problem, and you probably can expect to see some new stuff (including a new SOTD) today...

A Training Day Game is a Succession Game, but one overseen by a "trainer", who helps newbies along the way.
The idea is to help people new to Succession Games become better and more consistent in their play, to provide a better "stable" of players. They are also used just to help newbies learn how to play better. The "trainer" doesn't usually play, but instead critiques the trainee players' moves, and explains what they can do to improve their game.
Sboog, for instance, is playing in a Chieftain TDG, designed to help folks understand the game mechanics better, and how to play in a winning style.
I think that Chieftain TDG is the only one currently active, but LKendter has one running to teach proper city placement considerations.
You're welcome to have a look at them when CFC is back up.

This site could benefit from Succession Games, or Training Day Games. At Civ Fanatics, I am enjoying learning by playing a game with a team of 5 and with a mentor's helpful experience and critique.

we have succession games at least. training things sound like a good idea . CFC looks like a not-half-bad place, but the SMAC section is really lacking it would seem. even poly's AC-creation has more posts than it does! (and maybe if you're lucky, you'll get 1 post every few days there)

Woohooo!
I just received word from Strategy Gaming Online that the CivFanatics.com domain has been renewed successfully! You should be able to access the site and forum as usual via CivFanatics.com very soon (when your ISP updates its DNS database)!
Finally our suffering is over (almost)!!!
If CivFanatics.com is not working for you yet, try these links:
Main Site: http://civ.strategy-gaming.com
Forum: http://www.eqforge.com/
Thanks.
