I'll head to the CtP lobby and see who's there. Locutus had an excellent idea about meeting here in the chat room. That way we can check IM's etc quite easily. Anyway, I assume I'll see you both in the lobby within the next 15 minutes.

Game 4 - time and date for play TBD
1. Wittlich
2. Shadow
3. TheArsenal
4. Repistes?
5. Or whoever else was placed in the mean time
|
Hey guys, I will be able to start play on Tuesday 17th 2200 GMT/UTC/ZULU , until Wednesday 18th 0700 GMT.
Sorry I can't make it any earlier, work's got me swamped.
I'll also reiterate that I will rarely be able to play on weekends, and only on very short notice. So for those of you that prefer weekdays (I'm fairly flexible around all hours) then we should get this game started.

To my opponents Wise Ass and Oerdin:
12:00PM PST/15:00 EST sounds good to me as per Locutus' setup. I log onto 'Poly first to see if you guys are ready and able to play at that time.

We're still too nice to each other but kicking the AI's...

Indeed
We just made a postponement until next friday, we need to resolve some crashing problems as mapfi said, namely we're trying to move the game on one turn. Not too complicated. (famous last words)
The game IMO has about 3 or 4 hours play left in it, so we think its safe to postpone and finish it off friday, seeing as some of the other games are lagging behind us

Oh yeah, we need a neutral adjudicator(although i could do it ) to open the game in SP and move the game on one turn. (dont use the cheat menu) Im gonna do a fresh install too, to see if that helps at all.

Just some general thoughts what I think might be good to change if everybody agrees... - What about a tourny version of the colours00.txt that everybody would install? Like that we'll still be speaking of the same colours but avoid green writing on green which is even hard to read for me.
- We could speed things up if we took a small map - especially in 1 vs 1 games...
- Even though we have bloodlust off that's actually the only available victory since noone will ally with everyone to let another win and the science victory is not possible because the solaris project can't be build. I'd allow that one.
- Another thing is the slaves - no emancipation act means slaves for the whole game - funny thing is, i can't build any abolitionist - so we'll be stuck with them. Not really important this one though

Can you change the colors00.txt without everyone having the same one? Any brighter colours would be good.
I think the 1v1 games were gonna be played on a small map anyway.
Yeah id only allow the solaris project... and maybe emancipation act.

I'd assume you could - but then we wouldn't be talking about the same civ's when playing - that's why i'd propose a tourny one. Furthermore I have no idea how to do it...

Yep, would make things easier, i kept calling ETB 'orange' Its easy to change the colours, just get the RGB numerical values from mspaint and replace the numbers in colors00.txt

a little questions:
i never played a lot of the options (e.g. donut-world). What is the reason for starting with 10000 gold?
Default is 100, isn't it? do you buy a lot of armies at the beginning or what is it for?

I usually rush buy a few warriors to explore and get some early goody huts. It just keeps the early game interesting and gives it a jumpstart.

Where should I copy that servers file too? I went to login just to make sure it worked and it just continually hunted for servers. However Lan worked.

Okay Mauro, ETB i made a fresh install and moved the game on one turn. I started it in MP and the computer played Mauros turn and my turn was ready next, i saved it there, so only he will have missed one turn. Hope you werent planning anything important
There were 2 people playing just now but theyre not in the tournament. I wouldve them but theyre game was locked. And we saw 2 other guys on sunday who wanted to play with SAP but couldnt connect to each other. Seems like theres more people playing MP.

Of course I was! All my strategic thinking for nothing again...
So this means we'll wait for ETB to tell us when he gets back on Friday...

Oops Im afraid it was unavoidable, actually it could still crash or it may just have been your turn that time. I was playing with no one connected to me, so we'll have to see what happens when i host 2 people. I would like to test its stable before Friday though. I just need 1 or 2 people. Strange though because only ETB had a resynch in 250 turns
