I do somewhat, but as much as I used to. I have no ongoing "MP" games right now (though I am in a PBEM Game). Like others, time seems to only allow me to play SP, which isn't the same after playing MP.
It is kinda ironic, back when I had a slow connection, I looked forward to getting a faster connection, so that I could try MP with that......but by the time I got a faster connection, my time for playing Civ had dwindled to a point that MP was no longer an option (and the players I used to play with also decreased playing time).
But it is far from dead for me, I will continue with SP (beating up on the poor defenseless AI, and hope to play MP again.......and hope to stay alive in my PBEM game )

While I play less Civ2 these days, its certainly not because of Civ3.
I played a game to try out 1.29 patch and it was still awful.

Everytime I see one of these threads, I thank Ford that I didn't buy Civ3 I wish I had asked for opinions here before buying CtP, way back when.
My civving goes in cycles... right now I don't play much, but I know I'll go back to it. It's not as if I'm playing other games... rather, RL is interfering.

I played a multiplayer game about a month ago, that was the first time in about half a year.
I play Civ3 much more.

Sure they would be different... But that's not the point I had in mind when I created this survey. I was trying to judge how many people still surf this forum (because most people will post in a poll as generic as this) ... and to get a feel for how much people still play and how many of the Hard Core Civ II players there still are.
I think it's a safe assumption that the "true" results would show a ton of people have stopped playing... but you and I (and the rest of the world) already know that.
Again... looking for new information, not something I already know

I voted too fast; should have been hard core addict rather than all the time.. .
Other games don't hold my interest the way Civ II does. Still wish for an upgrade of II as opposed to the way III veered off into "all new land". All those threads on "What I'd like to see in Civ III" just pointed out what to avoid in the 'new' game.
Redefining the question a bit, I'd say if I could only have one game on my box it would be Civ II.

I had to vote for "I play whenever I have the time" because I'm currently busy with the Stella Polaris project, but I'm still playing Civ II as a civer anno 1997. So when I have time, I'm playing Civ II. And more about my devotion to Civ II can be read in my The Column article called " The Civilization II Era." Right now I'm just waiting that one of my best friends gets his new ADSL connection so that we can finally get to play Civ II MP over the Internet. And I also hope that the Civ II MP club of the FACDT will be running soon.

My answer doesn't quite fit into any of your graded categories. Mine is strictly "Not for a while as I'm quite engrossed with SMAC at the moment". Actually I have found SMAC a logical continuation of Civ2. My ambition there is to achieve an OCC win, adapting the many strategic lessons learnt in this forum.

I voted "a little bit". I cranked it up last weekend and realized there was a lot of little things that it has over SMAC, which is my main addiction. Things like specific population numbers, "real" military units and wonders, and much more appealing graphics IMO (smac's a great game but it's just too "dark"

Yes, Marquis, you are a naughty boy.
I was convinced that you left civ2 aside for a while in order to take better care of the Markioness (?)... and you come back telling us that you switched to Championship Manager.
It's almost like switching from heroin to cocain, you naughty, naughty noble man .

I bought this PII 233 laptop, and I put a bunch of my 'classic' archived games on it. ToT was one of them. But I don't play CivIII anymore, that's for sure. Maybe after PTW..

Champ Man is evil and must be destroyed - and anyway my kids can beat it - so it can't be worthy of we true strategists
LaFayette - good try, but the better half of a Marquis is a Marchioness (in english)
