Sounds good to me - can I have a small slice please - will probably only be able to play every other turn or so if that is OK with everyone.
The BIG QUESTION - will Ming be joining us?

I can join in. Be warned, though-- if my workload gets too heavy when my turn comes up, I may have to pass.

4000 - We have one science - Bronze Working
3900 - Hut Horse
3550 - Hut Horse One Wonders founded...Silk, Gems and Fish - not perfect but I've seen many worse.
3600 - Researching Alphabet...we are probably on an island so Map Making could be the "other" tech on the Monarchy path.
3400 - Looks like a 70 square Island...and there was me thinking we should build the Lighthouse!
3250 - Not the Gardens founded.
3150 - Alphabet...now for Ceremonial Burial.
3000 - Capital building barracks which will be changed to a temple when CB comes along.
SG[1] Next then Vlad...play about 15 turns at this stage.
All welcome to join

OK - I'm on it...
One Wonder Game ...
3000 = Increase Science at expense of food...
2850 = Ceremonial Burial -> Code of Laws
2600 = Not the Gardens trains Settler and starts another
2550 = Temple in One Wonders; Code of Laws -> Monarchy (currently costs 60 beakers!)
2300 = No Lighthouse! founded on Whale - starts Settler, martial law to be provided by Warrior from capital; Reduce Science by 1 beaker so as to discover Monarchy in 2050
2250 = Time to pass on ...

You are on the list Hydey.
Vlad is playing now, so you will start after La Fayette. The order of play list is above.

I am 'exam guy' until November... so I can't play
However, I will watch with great interest Seems to me that the Fundy approach (& trade like crazy) might work just as well without wonders as it did in the Priestess game.

2200 BC-- Phalanx built in One Wonders. Now buildng Settler.
2150 BC-- Monarchy discovered, now on Currency (trade beeline). Revolt declared.
2050 BC-- Now in Monarchy. w00t! Increased sci rate (now 8 turns/tech, down from 10).
2000 BC-- Now ranked as the second happiest civ in the world by Lord Macaulay.
1950 BC-- Not The Gardens builds Settler. (Having it build a road to One Wonders.) Switched NtG to temple.
1700 BC-- Currency discovered, now researching Mysticism (trade wasn't available).
1650 BC-- No Lighthouse finishes Settler, begins work on another. Sending the settler west to that two-special site (first to clear the jungle, then settle there).
1550 BC-- One Wonders completes Settler. Set it to irrigate the roaded tile SE of the city.
1500 BC-- Passing off the baton.
La Fayette is next.
A word of note: After we get Trade, it may be beneficial to go for Map Making. That way, we can explore that island to the south of us.

Well, if my d/l problems are over -- and I believe they are -- I'm in.
But ya gotta post the saves (as least those I'm to use) as .ZIP files.
Please post the next save in this manner so I'll know on an apples-to-apples basis.

I hope you don't mind if the oldfarts give advice:
If SG[1] slows down research in order to discover Monarchy in 2050BC, it is because of the so-called oedo year. IMO you shouldn't have increased research and switched to Monarchy in 2150BC, because this means losing alot compared to the solution he suggested.
Anyway, here is what happened later:
1250BC: Discover Mysticism, research Trade
Keinkoloss founded
925BC: Sansoracle and Marcono founded
900BC: Discover Trade, research Mapmaking
875BC: Antigizeh founded
850BC: Byemike founded
(Hydey is next )

Still have some problems to find some spare time to play.
And again MGE seems to be out of reach (don't have time to d/load, I know, I'm lazy )
Admiring the progress of the Academy... poor AI.
Just one thought. What if an AI wonder city is conquered? Will it be disbanded?
...again, poor AI

Not comp-savvy enoung to have all the details, SG. You are, of course, correct in asserting that this whole d/l situation is a bit surreal. My d/lattempt at home just failed -- machine wants a plug-in in order to read the "specially formatted text" of the "document."
Next, I'll d/l on my work PC, email it to my home account, and attempt unzip. (Using the "ZipIt" shareware recommended to me on the Mac forum here.)
Recently, I got a PM from JCP (a Mac guy) informing me that this is actually quite simple with the right software. Can't remember the name of the pgm, but looks like it's worth checking out.
Obviously, if I can't get this fixed by the time Hydey is done, just bypass me this round. (sigh)

I've done the d/l on my work PC and am emailing to my home account now.
Will attempt to open file tonight and either play or bow out.
Hope you're feeling better, Hydey.

IT WORKS!!!
Have the Hydey save, have downloaded, emailed from work to home, unzipped, opened sucessfully in Civ MGE (Mac), inspected briefly and saved.
Nice little island nation we've got. Looks like time to go explore a bit...
No time to play tonight (need to be @ work in 6 hrs, haven't slept quite yet). Will get to it ASAP.
Thanx all for your patience in waiting for me to screw up your game. I'll try not to disappoint.
