Thanx Hydey. Did the D/L to my work PC. Will email to the iMac home system and open tonight.
(Unsure if I can play tonight though, as it's launch night for a major new microsite in my company's Web empire -- our first ecommerce effort. Management is watching, so I've gotta make sure everything's right before we go live...)

D/L worked fine -- opened, took a quick look, and saved. Camel City!! And it looks like we'll have Democracy shortly.
With so many ships away from home, I worry about whether we can make that transition. Probably not practical... I generally have happy wonders to get me through such things.
Hmm, things to ponder as I get through the workday...
Will play tonight (US Central time).

Running a Demo with lots of triremes and caravels at sea is not easy at all.
If I were you, I wouldn't switch to Demo before I get Magnetism or Industrialization.

No wonder...
Well, I had a rough night of it, boys. Must have been tired, 'cuz I made a few silly mistakes. Played more turns than I meant to -- I swear that when you get to a certain late-night level, the "Civ2 One More Turn" syndrome is nearly uncontrollable.
anyway, here's the Zipped save. I'll write up my notes shortly.

The story...
Drat -- was about 2/3 done documenting when bleeping AOL hit me with a "you have been logged off for inactivity" notice. Bleeping bleepers... So here's what happened --
1300 -- Consul Chief Lagomorph surveys the republic, and sees that it is rich. Germans, English sign peace treaty, Egypt begins mighty Crusade of King Richard of Thebes. Chinese, English both courting Magellan One Wonders ends celebration @ 13. Berlin bombarded with Hides (184), Hides (264), and Beads (100). Mayor of Not The Gardens attempts to explain the Food 'van present in his fair city.
1320 -- Celts go to war with Chinese. We discover Democracy. Workers beg for chance to build giant Statue in the harbor. Consul Chief Lagomorph sets them to work in the camel-breeding farms, selects Gunpowder over Gravity and Warrior Code. Hoover slips into discord. Northbound caravel spots hut, diplomat persuades NONE nomads to join forces.
1340 -- Copernicus becomes extremely Obervant in Berlin. Leather-lovers in Frankfurt (188), Berlin (184 + 184 + 264 ) are pummeled with our Hides. Egyptian port of Abydos (4) mapped in far SE. Northern caravel heads homeward to set NONE settler to work, spotting a 2-whale island near Celt lands en route.
1360 -- Caravel spots hut on SE island. Diplomat enters and finds an advanced tribe complete with Pop=4, temple and library. Rampant Cancer starts with one red face but is fortunate to have a young Elvis among its ppl to set things right.
1380 -- One Wonders builds caravan -- BUT NO HIDES ARE AVAILABLE!! ("What have I done?" laments the Consul Chief.) So upset is he that he spaces out during ship chaining, delaying delivery of needed goods to Berlin. Load camels with wool instead. Hieroncopolis spotted east of Abydos.
1400 -- Not The Gardens builds cathedral, celebrates wildly. Gunpowder discovered, Steam Engine next. Insatiable Berliners gratefully accept more Hides (264 + 184 + 184), while trireme sneaks shipment of Coal into Leipzig (175).
1420 -- Barbs spotted in Egypt and at sea. Celts get republic. Byemike! celebrates. New trade route to Egypt considered, caravel sets forth.
1440 -- Underfunded caravel (with camel ) disbanded. Groggy Consul Chief Lagomorph gets more grog. Eastern explorers pop a hut, gain 200 GP Population surpasses 4MM.
1460 -- Marcono prepares for celebration. Hides to Berlin (264 GP).
1480 -- Barbs come out of deep black sea, sink caravel with NONE settler. Consul Chief vows revenge. Wise men demonstrate 1st practical Steam Engine. We propose its early application to a Railroad. Berlin (where the streets are paved with leather) accepts our Wool (264), plus 2 more shipments of Hides (264 ea. ).
1500 -- Celts become a republic. Magellan's Voyage completed in Beijing. Not The Gardens ends celebration (13). Hut yields 50 GP. Consul Chief considers using growing reserve fund for bribery campaign. Diplomatic training stepped up.
1510 -- Replacement settler ships north to start colony. Barb crook bribed in northern Germany to help out. Dye delivered to Hambourg, netting 116 GP. Hardy Mongol workers build Egyptian-bound caravels.
1520 -- A Celt named Sun Tzu opens his War Academy in Carmarth. Abydos defects from Egyptian empire, joins Barbarians. Mongol Settler lands on our proposed northern outpost. Eastern caravel/dip positions to entice barbs to become NONE residents of Rampant Cancer.
1530 -- Steam engine determined to work just fine when mounted on wheeled cart. Lagomorphic Railroad is founded. Industrialization targeted. Hoover Sucks grows to 9 but seems unhappy about it. Treasury exceeds 7000.
Consul Chief Lagomorph passes out; successor elected and installed in office while he sleeps.
* * * * *
Glad to hear it unzips OK. Whoever is next -- Straybow, I believe? -- have fun!

-Jrabbit, the penalty for playing too many turns is 50 push ups or 50 beers which ever you can manage the easiest.

I had to count them to notice! - Bad -Jrabbit a full 13 turns! Bad, bad, rabbit!
It's strange - in some Succession Games you don't want to stop and in others you can't wait to hand over - but they are great fun!

SG[1] -- Go ahead --
Scold me for screwing up the ship chain.
Call me an idiot for finding away to take hides off the resource list.
Berate me for losing a NONE settler.
for these things, I blame myself. ;wall:
But don't bash me for playing one extra turn (13) when SG(2) said 12 = "about right."
 -- Get a grip!!!
But I'll pay the price. Hydey, I'm, uh, forced to take the "50 beers" option.
(Actually, I meant to stop at 1500 but it got away from me. I was very tired and a bit, um, affected. )

That's what I miss most about succession games, Jrabbit... the heaping of abuse on the slow players
I post as quickly as I can regardless of how much it impacts the quality of my turns!
