Right, right.
I'll get to it once the weekend comes along. (Damn workload-- History paper and Calculus test in the next two days, on top of the regular stuff...)

If you wish me to play before you, just let me know.
(I have no strategic meeting on Friday, ...nevertheless a lot of 'vin nouveau' is now flooding to my place, which allows me to say 'cheers' to the honourable members of the gaming society in Liverpool)

More seriously: my proposal was a silly one because I can't play before the week end.
Let us stick to the listing: you play when you can and I play after you .

The Gits confuse me

Meh? I left only two cities producing minor CIs, expensive Cathedrals were mostly all in place where needed. What did you spend 1k on? Converting the Harbor into a Musketeer in OneW (oops, didn't recall disbanding the Phalanx) shouldn't have costed much at all.

First I complain about a city way off the beaten path, now I complain about a city built too close… SG(2) must've been really blotto

1758 = Egyptians land elephant and kill two settlers - I have nver seen the AI choose to attack units rather than a city before

Sure, I've often used the defensive split to save a city, like in a previous succession game [see below where barbs were about to attack, so one Musketeer already in the field moved into EofM and another stepped out of Cremona into the forest to split the attack]. Put a strong defender on terrain near the vulnerable city and the AI loses one attacker and wastes a second attack killing off the distraction. Two remaining barbs attack the city but are unlikely to kill both Musketeers, and hopefully one defender has enough hp left to finish off the attacker next round.

Ah Stray - the thanks was for the 7000g treasury - this became many Banks, Harbours etc.
Yes VotesForWomen! was a hut (or IIRC a nomad) the ! was sarcasm ...
Only place to get the Whale and with two cities eventually churning out freights the ferry service will be more efficient
I guess my memory is defective - I was quite certain at the time that the Ellies would go for the city ...

VotesForWomen obviously a defective name. World opinion now doubts our civ's commitment to the One Wonder philosophy!
Vlad -- Please correct this, as our Palace Publicist is having a hard time doing spin control.

So confused. It seemed you were lumping it in with the undefended capital remark and I thought it another light-hearted jab...
Well, the treasury was about "only" 5700g when I finished since the repeat commodities had vanished and I had rushed many laundrettes. You had spent so much time staring at the 1530 save with 7600g, waiting on me, it must have become ingrained in your eyeballs.
Votes was a hut (I had moved a Dip that in direction with that hope). I guess I'm confused because it looks like both No Lady and Manhatten Fail are one removed from the hut pattern and there's no mention of nomads.
Another problem comes to mind: This is "Sticky Mouse Academy Strikes Back" and we still have no Sticky Mouse! This is a grievious oversight, and where are we supposed to be sent for reeducation for crimes in office?
The Academy must be founded forthwith! Please note lush, uninhabited continents with many suitable locations...

Got 8 turns done.
1762-- Corrected that name.
1764-- Celts, Germans sign alliance against us Explosives discovered Now working on Metallurgy. Munich bribed, joins our empire. Killed the Granary in Konigsberg.
1766-- Building some Engineers. (You know where they're headed.)
1768-- Celts declare War, land troops on Manhattan Fail.
1770-- Celtic Knight dies in suicide attack on Manhattan Fail (disbanded Crusader to build Musketeer there). Building another Musketeer to go after the settler they landed.
1772-- Celts build UN and Statue of Liberty. Idiots.
1774-- Bloody Celtic settler killed. Sticky Mouse founded east of our home island. 'nother group of settling units (two Engineers) en route to another nearby island. Delivered a couple of caravans to Cardiff. Blew up Temple in Cardiff.
1776-- Metallurgy found! Corporation started on. The Institute founded.
1778-- Not much this turn.

For the heck of it, our score:
(On a side note, how the bloody hell did we get contact with the English? Is this some undocumented effect of the UN, that all civs get contact with everyone else?)

What I find funny is that we're technically AT WAR with three different civs, and we still get the peace bonus
As an aside, what's our next Succession Game going to be? I remember the idea of Conquest under Democracy getting floated around a little while back...

Conquest under democracy? I've even done that all by myself! Can't be much of a challenge, to big, strong civvers like you guys...
Nice session, Vlad., and hope it provided welcome respite from (as opposed to inappropriate avoidance of) your studies. Now who's next?

Ah, good. Hmmm, do I see two Engrs idled awaiting transport instead of planting productive forests where useless jungles and swamps hinder our progress?
Motion now before the Comintern: Appoint Vlad to Sticky Mouse land improvement detail.

Both lazy engineers have been immediately sent to the swamps by the new adviser and the science slider has been 'corrected' upwards .
It appears that we are now supreme and well ahead in techs. I have therefore decided to be very peaceful and grow our trading capacity as fast as possible.
Corporation is discovered in 1784, providing higher bonuses (best one: 612g for delivery of silk in Egypt).
Conscription is discovered in 1788, then Electricity in 1794, then Steel in 1798. Refining should be discovered in 1802. Our rate of research should never be less than 2turns/tech from now on, and we should be able to launch before 1870.
Other events:
Adamscoffin created in 1780.
Sneak attack by the English and the Japanese in 1786: they die .
TheInstitute destroyed by barbs in 1786 (our mighty fortified musketman gets killed by attacking barb musketman , rest in peace).
We trade techs with the Chinese in 1794 (Conscription against Direction, oh well, they asked for it ).
Strong barb attack against RampantCancer in 1798 (at least 4 knights stacked onboard a frigate ). They will have 5300 gold. We say 'nuts' and they take the city, giving us 4 partisans (I love that ). I have killed those barbs because they were naughty, but I have left the city painted red, just in case my successor wishes to buy barb knights .
Our trading network is organized as follows:
A shipchain between Antigizeh and Elephantine. A link between our two main islands (transport based in Frankfurt). A shipchain (simplified) between Heidelburg and Cardiff.

Sorry time is short but I squeesed in a few turns (8) but in my rush I cleared the log I had writen up on word so No report.
My first turn started with the chinese attacking and taking Nil Newton, I had a look and realised our nation was defended by very ooutdated units, rushed some rifles
we discovered 4 techs in the 8 turns Tactics, Combustion and flight plus whatever we were researching before that.
Bloody real world getting in the way stops all my fun
