Great contest, Mark! I hope someone here takes it. As for myself, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with being a paying beta tester...

Good luck to everyone (I just submitted mine).
Though to be honest, I'd be surprised if there weren't *way* more than 25 people who get all of the faces right. Nearly every race's art is available if you know where to look.

edit by markg: come on.... no info about the "races" or the "faces"
edit by MAD JAMES!!: come on... I was just supporting what Xentax said
You could've just taken out the names
(What I said was that other than ONE of the races that we know we won't see until the game ships - and didn't name - and one other race already had pictures floating around. The latter is the ? and the former is can be inferred by default)

Sweet idea. Nice work in securing this Markos. I wish I had time to do this beta test but I don't and so I won't try to take this spot from someone that would give it there all.

Don't know any of the new races and will keep it that way until the game comes out. No peeking for me. I want it to be all new and exciting. I like to watch the cuts scenes for the first time (no other time though).

I enter the contest just now. I was able to find all the pictures for all the races on the net. I hope I am able to win a spot.

800 responses, and the web research wasn't terribly hard to get all of them right... I really, really hope they pay a lot of attention to the "tell us about yourself" field instead of just picking out of a hat.
I also hope that there aren't more than 24 other people with prior full-time professional game software testing experience.

I don't think you have to worry about professionals competing with us. Professionals want to get paid for their work.

I would hope thay already have their professional game testers. I would also hope these spots go to professional game players. There's a difference - a pro tester will tell you the game crashes when you leave the save dialog blank. The player will tell you culture flipping sucks.

I can't enter the contest, but it doesn't matter. I'll be suprised if I ever buy MOO3. The art looks nice though.

Unauthorized Domain
Never mind. I was able to enter after all. I have Zone Alarm running on my computer and had to shut it down in order to enter the contest. It also causes the Unauthorized Domain error

If they'd want to do anything with my computer that'd require me to drop my firewall, I'd tell'em to stick it. But since their page works jsut fine with ZA, I think your problem was somewhere else.

Once I had time in my schedule to do beta testing. No more, so since there isn't a harvester picture I won't bother.

Hello,
Are you able to tell me who is the Moo3 Beta tester from the Moo2 Multi-player (Kali) League?
I have asked around - but no-one is owning up - I guess he could be busy testing.
Thanks.

Don't know about system370
But I cut my sysprog teeth on a 370-158 MP with dialable shared memory.
Beinf employed in a online financial style environment, our collective blood would freeze every time the printer stopped and the chugga-chugga of the system console floppy drive started.
Usually indicated a system crash of some kind.

Heh, heh. I started on a System 1620 donated to my highschool. It was a museum piece we called "Plymouth Rock." When I got to college I decided I'd had enough of punchcards, so I delayed taking the intro engineering courses until the transition to IBM PCs was complete. I didn't use the 370 until I was a senior.

Yep that's where I started a System370 (DOS/VM) 6ft Tall and as long as a Bus. Finally some 20 years on they have a PC Operating System just about as stable as VM/370 and VMs (Virtual Machines) are back in fasion .

Well as you may have guess by the name I use, I was a VM systems programmer (when the first release hit the west coast). We tried to run it on a 370-135, but it paged so much the disk was bouncing. I forget if the disk was a 2313 or what. I started on BOS, then DOS and then VM with DOS running under it. Well actually I was trained on Navy computers before BOS came out, we used paper tape to load the operating system in the box. We had a large CICS environment at that time. Then we ran MVS under VM before the LPAR boxes came out and they put VM in the microcode.

Who does? Where can I get it? You mean Linux?
