The Thinkers Guild: Intellectual Reports...
Welcome my dear Guildsmen...
It's time to go out and see how the thoughts are floating through our great nation, and things that can be done to improve it.
- How are the principles of a true democracy kept by the govt.?
- How are the Thinkers doing in the different areas of administration?
- Are we Guildsmen influencing the people and rulers enough in the way of the free thought and true democracy?
- And to participate in the science politics...(as some would have us to be involved with) Is that our main goal now?
- Well, how many libraries do we have excactly?
- Is there a library at the Uber Island ? (I've gotta go there soon)
- And many other things, we need to settle?
To all Apolytons:
-> Post reports of the intellectual situation here <-

Honorable Dr PlagueRat,
I must apologize for not having all the facts you request with me at this time. I can tell you the following, however.
Our nation is in the beginning stages of revolution. The Constitutional convention has been established to look long and hard at the CoL and come up with a much more concise and logical set of laws. The CC is a body of 4 individuals, NYE, Togas, adaMada, and Apocolypse. This will prevent too much arguing from the public, but allows a diverse set of opinions.
The Thinkers are having a profound impact on the game, IMO. Last term saw several innovations to speed the flow of free thought, such as structured orders from the ministers and a directory linking to most all discussions, and a number of chats that were orderly, polite, and for the most part free of the constant spam and bickering of the past. Many Ministers took it upon themselves to seek assistants, and those assistants served well, and intelligently. One can only hope such things serve as an example for the future.
The problem of both of the above, however, is that the change has been slow. Persistance will be needed to see many of these things through to their conclusion. Room for improvement there is, but alot awaits the CC for actual changes.
The one instance lately where one can say true democracy did not prevail would have been the use of our Great Leader. Several discussions and polls arose on the topic, but still, not all options were presented, or polled upon. Faced with an actual LAW requiring the turn to take place, however, the Gov't did the best they were able in determining the will of the people.

Does it exist one person herein who knows exactly how many libraries we have, and where they are located?
Oh, which wonders are being built now?
(by us, or any different nation)

We have exactly... one library. It’s in Apolyton. We are building libraries in Here It Is (14 turns), Port Rouge (21 turns) and Timeline (2 turns).

Persians have the Pyramids (soon will be ours ).
Greeks have the Hanging Gardens and The Great Wall.
Iroquois have The Colossus.
Aztecs have The Great Lighthouse.
Russians have The Great Library.
Babs have The Oracle.
Sun Tzu is ours.
The Romans (Rome), Greeks (Sparta), Germans (Berlin), England (Nottingham), Russia (Moscow) and Persians (Pasargade) are constructing the Sistine Chapel.

Thanks Aro. I was going to add to what apparently you did....
The Sistine Chapel will not be ours unless some mirical occures. Namely, a second great leader along with a major scientific discovery on our part. Not likely.
Uber isle is in its infancy of colonization. Soon, I plan on having a total of 6 cities there, with the following priorities in construction - Temples, defence, trade (1-2 ports to connect to the mainland) then a combination of libraries and cathedrals. Many are now discussing the possibility of relocating our center of government there once established, or of building a summer palice, hidden from the world, where our government can retreat to escape the heat and humidity of our jungle homeland.
Libraries are of grave importance through our fair land, and I hope that when I leave office in the future that the education of our peoples will be assured.

IMO, Rome and Russia have more chances. Rome has two lux, at least, and the city of Rom is size 8, like Moscow and Pasargade. The question is, the persians have to deal with war weariness and have one lux (I think), they probably have less produtivity. There's another factors involved, but I don't know the mechanics of game so well. Hey, Shiber, give us a hand here...

Good!
Now, the Thinkers Guild can go there to recruit young geeks too.
They'll have to go through the Banannabis Sativa Ritual first,
then they will get educated in Way of the Stoned Walk,
and later on become good Guild members.
