hey, real sorry for the delay guys... i recieved first turn, but a bit of a problem has arised... i lost my smac/x cd.. i am dl a copy at the moment however and hopefully the delay won't b more than a day or two. Sorry.

actually guys i'm goign to have to pull out i can't get a decent dl on this thing, and my dad keeps cancelling it, unless someone knows of a quick place to DL full smac/x (i have cable)... i gotta pull out.

2102 to Archaic

I can't get it -- why graphic of all factions confused? I mean there is University with colors and pictures of towns which belongs to Free Drones and so on.

Because of an unfortunate SMACX bug that affects all games that are started as scenarios. Then the faction graphics are not saved with the game, and it uses the ones that currently happen to be listed in your "Alpha Centauri.ini" file. This changes every time you start a new game, so the colours will not necessarily be the same from turn to turn.

Most players live with it and adjust, but there are two possible workarounds:

1. Start a new game with the factions in the correct order (here University, Hive, Angels, Spartans, Pirates, Peacekeepers, Cult) immediately before playing a turn of this game - you can exit right out if it without playing anything.

2. Keep a backup .ini file with the factions listed in the correct order (as above, though you will need to use the codes: UNIV, HIVE, ANGELS, SPARTANS, PIRATES, PEACE, FUNGBOY) and copy it over your other .ini before playing.

Both are tiresome, though.

There is unfortunately nothing I can do to avoid the problem.

Guys :Note what Archaic mentioned in another thread '..... Pentagon' that they were changing sytems at his ATM centre. So there might be a delay.

Maybe it will be better to let participants on their own generate random map and after first circle of turns they can send to you their passwords (if you need them).Because of that it will not be played as scenario,but as standart game.

Bored: That is a possibility. But most people prefer the balancing of a scenario start. The random starting position generator is atrocious.

I sent the turn 2103 to Bored but made a mistake in that I thought I had sent the wrong turn. So replayed and sent it again as turn 2104. On e of those Bad days. Anyway that is where the turn is.
