Minister of War Poll - 460 AD
We have now met 2 civs., the aggressive militaristic Japanese (in Monarchy), and the militaristic Carthaginians (in Despotism). The Carths have 7 cities, yet Rusucurru is the 10th city on their list! The Japanese have one of the missing cities, and we can't tell if the other 2 have been destroyed by the Japanese or taken by other civs. The Carths have even lost their capital city!
While we are intending a generally defensive game, it appears that the Carths are being taken apart. At least 2 of their cities are near to us, and it could prove awkward if some more powerful civ took them over, from which to attack us.
I suggest that we might want to consider saving those poor doomed people from the cruel Japanese civ. We can build some Elephants to attack with and establish a foothold on the Carth land.

Are we taking back lost Carth cities from the Japs or are we dividing the Carths up between ourselves and the Japs? I'm a little confused.

it sounds like we would be splitting the carths between us and the japanese. I say no because i don't want to be involved in a war sharing a continent with another civ. it would mean endless warfare unless we conquered them

I meant taking the 2 Carth cities we can see on our map. It might be unpleasent to discover that the orange has suddenly turned green one of these future turns. The Carth city (Rusicade) that the Japanese have taken is not visible to us.

I would recomend we wait and explore a little more before attacking but i would agree that it is not be in our best interest if a powerful enemy was on our door step.

The Carts and Japs are sharing the same island.
An invasion against the Carts therefore will mean the Japs will be sending hoardes of units our way once we take them.
I say better support the Carts in teir warefforts against the Japs, thus weakening the Japanese devellopment.

Even as the poll has closed already and it seems I'm too late I would like to express my point of view :
From what we know from the power graph and our observations the Carths are only moments away from their obliteration and therefore I would like to ask you something: Should we allow the Japs to conquer all their cities and oppress the poor Carths. The people cry for liberty and we are the ones that will deliver it to them in form of your wise, mild and ever friendly King (or Queen, not sure from what I saw in the threads )Hydey .
