using mIRC?
Options -> Identd -> check 'Enable Identd server'.
UserID and System should be something (doesn't matter what, but they can't be blank), port should be 113.

Calc II -- Using trillian can cause this problem. One suggestion is to get a free IdentD serer from downloads.com or something, and have it auto run with your computer.
If you use trillian (for ANYTHING), try completely shutting it down then logging in. I used to have to do this but I don't any more.
