I just love how he's backing up rap, saying that everyone has eminem wrong and stuff, and then goes on to dis rock and techno.
Techno, like jazz, shall live for ever.
The thing about rap, like any fad, is that it got too popular. Anything that gets overdone eventually dies (anyone heard a lot of talk about pokemon these days?).
Techno, on the other hand, has been around since the mid 1900s, and is still quietly there. Never too many listeners (except when it comes to dance and rave music ), but never a lacking in them either. Techno is alive and well, and with the advent of MANY virtual synths, it can only get better (though not more popular).
For good techno (although I prefer the more generic term electronica. Techno is only a subgenre, like d&b or trance), I suggest the hosted artists on Audiogalaxy. They've got some good unknowns there .
yo
BTW, rock's good too

What the hell?
Alright I'll grant Eminem this... he is clearly an intelligent man with considerable talent lyrically and in the actual act of rapping (ie- talking on beat with emotion). Though his rhymes are complicated, his problem is he has NOTHING TO SAY
The man exists for shock. He's either talking about raping his mom, murdering his wife, dissing the backstreet boys, or talking about gay people... can't he figure out something better to say?
Now and then he comes up with something like that song about the obsessed fan or a couple tracks on his newest album (it's pretty good for a bootleg... i wouldnt pay 15 dollars for this **** though) but overall, he's a waste of talent. He has immense talent but wastes it like a ****ing nut.
IF YOU WANT GOOD EMINEM try to get your hands on his first album before he hooked up with Dre called Infinite. Eminem was creative, intelligent, and uplifting! He was the brown-haired (!) impoverished rapper who talked honestly about poverty (no hard-core lies about killing people left and right) but felt that he didn't belong there and kept on saying how he would rise up cause he believed in God and himself! Don't believe me? peep this short excerpt from It's Okay...
But in the mist of this insanity, I found my Christianity
Through God and there's a wish he granted me
He showed me how to cope with the stress
And hope for the best, instead of mope and depressed
Always groping a mess, of flying over the nest
To selling dope with the rest
I quit smoking cess to open my chest
Life is stressful inside this cesspool
Trying to wrestle, I almost bust a blood vessel
My little brother's trying to learn his mathematics
He's asthmatic, running home from school away from crack addicts
Kids attract static, children with automatics
Taking target practice on teens for Starter Jackets
I'm using smarter tactics to overcome this slum
I won't become as dumb as some and succumb to scum
It's cumbersome, I'm trying to do well on this Earth
But it's been Hell on this Earth since I fell on this Earth
But then Marshall Mathers got depressed, popped pills, failed in his suicide attempt, and emerged saying he was going to let the jackass within him emerge...
thanks

I find it hilarious when he goes on about how he grew up in the mean streets of Detroit.
Horseshit. The middle-class suburb of Sterling Heights is light-years away from Detroit. Eminem is as fake and manufactured as Britney Spears or N Sync. The only difference is that he created this completely bullshit persona himself for the most part, as opposed to the manager-manufactured teenypop clowns.

Give him credit for creating that persona, bullshit though it is.

Every rapper has a bullshit persona. I don't know why we should hold Eminem to a higher standard.

I only really like Tupac Shakur, OutKast, and Naughty By Nature. Snoop Dogg has some good songs.

SwitchMoO: By far the most exciting and avantgardistic electronica around at the moment comes as the backing track to recent Hip-Hop (and to a lesser extent Dancehall and Soca). Astounding, multilayered complex soundscapes of hooks, jerky, lurching beats and strange harmonies, real mind-shattering stuff. Compared to it the incessant disco-based beat of House or Trance feels like it was done by soulless amateurs that have slept since 1979, frankly.

MY mistake about rap
Anyway, about electronica, I really don't like hiphop either. Give me stuff like elipsis.one, the soundtrack from C&C: Tibsun or Riven, and enduro, and I'll be happy. I like D&B and the like too, but those I listed before destroy all others (IMO, of course).
