But only the second bug. Thanks anyway
Some obversations on the first bug: If I enter the chat room with Netscape 4.78 I get an empty page in full screen mode. Then I switch to another chat room and I get the full room , then I switch back I get the chat room I wanted to get first when I clicked on the full screen mode link.

OK another observation: Afterwards I entered the chat with Netscape 4.78 and enabled cookies. I got first the empty box in full screen mode with the windows back ground color then I switshed to the CTP1/2 chat room, the room appeared as it should be, then I switched back to the Apolyton chat room everything normal. Then again to the CTP1/2 chat room the first the chat room loaded as normal, but then the part of the chat room with the text in changed to the windows background collor with bigger fonts. Afterwrds I went again to the Apolyton chat room Netscape 4.78 crashed. I tried it three times.

It is true that Mozilla 1.1 feels more like Netscape 4.78, but there is something, dynamic fonts, the size of text fields is outside 'Poly not right, and that is also true for some on 'Poly. The address bar in Netscape 4.78 is longer. If I move the cursor over the stars that shows how a thread is rated then I see I many people rated the thread in Netscape 4.78, but this is missing in Mozzilla. And what's wrong with using two browsers at the same time so I can use there advantages. Finnally you advertized the full screen mode of the chat as Netscape 4.78 compartible, so what's wrong with it if I test it and report some bugs.

It's not missing, its just not being used. The correct command is "title" within the image, not "alt." "Alt" is a MSIE command that I guess Netscape uses as well in the early days. If "title" was used then all the browsers would be able to display the scroll over text effect.

Yeah Markos you should fix this. And I see now another bug if I use Netscape 4.78. It appeared in the last days: It doesn't load the costum avatars automaticly anymore. And by the way any progress to achieve the promissed Netscape 4.78 compartibility of the chat:

MarkG -- I have an interesting flaw re the new Chat function.
When at home, I'm on AOL/Mac. When I go to chat, all I can view is the most recent entry. No (viewable) history accrues -- it just goes offscreen as soon as a new entry is made.
This was also true in the old version chatroom.
This is not a big deal to me, as I use dial-up from home and don't use chat that often anyway. But it's frustrating enough that I would not participate in, say, a Demo Game turnchat under such conditions.
Thought you'd want to know...

I have yet to use the new chat, mainly because I have noticed that whenever it is active (even if only one person is just sitting there hanging out) the rest of the forums, including the directory, become slower than Civ3 on a huge map with 1000 automated workers. With over 250 users in the forums and no-one in the chat room, things clip along at a decent pace, but as soon as one person enters chat; the error messages start appearing, pages won't load, replies fail etc. (even when the total in the forum is below 150.)

AOL chat problem

Actually, I'm pretty sure that AOL's standard browser is Netscape-based. (Gee, Netscape a problem source... bet THAT's never happened here before... )
Not at home now so can't really check. I will state for the record that, if this proves to be a Netscape 4-era browser, I will withdraw my complaint, knowing how idiosyncratic that can be. (At work, I use Netscape 4.5 when I'm trying to see if a Web function will break.)
Like I said in the original post, not a big deal. AOL may be the world's biggest ISP, but doesn't seem to contain a lot of Poly ppl...

Cool a third Netscape 4.XX user.
But Actual I wanted to post about another problem:
Markos you inserted some text between "Live Chat:" and "Enter" on the top of the forum pages, unfortunatly it is very difficuilt to read, because you black as font color on a blue background in CTP2 forum style. Actual not chat related but the same problem is found on the forum start page you find there "Today's Birthdays" and "Today's Registrations:" in black on a blue background, too.
I used Netscape 4.78 to take that screenshot in Mozilla 1.1 you have blue fonts on blue background.

AOL has been using IE instead of Netscape for the last couple years. They are now thinking about going back because of the Mozilla project and AOL's ownership of Netscape. But depending on how old your version of AOL is, than maybe it is Netscape based.

Just wonder why if I press on the Reduce the Shoutbox (at least that says the button if I move the cursor over it) button I go to the forum page index instead of returning to the smaller version of the shoutbox. I used Netscape 4.78, you don't have on this page the shoutbox but the links to the archives.

Why not put the subject of the channel in the top of the chat area? put an:
in the top page body:
<input type="text" id="subject" readonly="1" value="SUBJECT: Kournikova joins 'Save Poly Kittens' Organization!" />
in the top page header (for example):
<style>
#subject
{
background: #CCCCCC;
}
</style>
With just: top.document.getElementById("subject").value = NewSubject; you can update it without redrawing.

Yep, but I never read the title of the window, only when it loads the content. In a chat the window never reloads enterely, so I never read the title bar.
Also, the title bar is quite useless, in my Windows Taks Bar I only can see "Apolyt...". A great thing could be a small script that creates a marquee with the document.title, but could be really annoying.
