Director of Energy & Industry election campaign
Dear voters,
It appears the Directorate of E & I will stay available, so I have offered myself for that position. A campaign seems appropriate then...
If you vote for me, I promise I will start regular polls about where to place the workers, ā la Vlad's latest poll.
Also a poll about whether we should or shouldn't rush the first item built in a newly founded base. If my personal opinion matters, I'd rushbuild a former at a new base.
If we'd manage to achieve Industrial Automation before the end of the next term, I would lobby heavily with the D of BP to build supply crawlers in our core non-frontier bases to convoy resources or aid the construction of our first secret project, probably the "Weather Paradigm". I will then post polls about where we should use that crawler. Depending on the answer I will urge the D of T&C to plant more forests or build more farms/condensers(?).
Anything else I forgot?

i don't want to nitpick or anything, but technically it is Director of Industry and Energy, not Energy and Industry, to avoid confusion with Exploration and Intelligence.

Do you support Free Market economics as a long-term policy?

DeathByTheSword: my usual policy is that the first worker squad of every base should be on high-nutrient producing territory, so every base can expand quickly from 10000 to 20000 citizens. But from the second worker squad on I support high-mineral producing terrain over nutrients.
This means IMO the first worker squad of UNPD should be on the Freshwater Sea, all other workers to come I'd like on forests. About NA, the hugh nutrient 3-1-0 square for the first worker squad. The second worker on the rocky minerals. Except if we would build a rec commons in NA before starting the Weather Paradigm. Then putting the worker on the freshwater nutrient might be worth it. This is a non-issue though, as NA is about to reach size 30000.
Mr. President, despite having left P4, I still stand for the original P4 social policy as I first wrote it. This means FM on longterm: yes. On shortterm: no, unlike what Archaic would want. Btw, isn't this a question for the D of SE candidate?

Great political move there. The more distance you have from me, the more people might like you.
That reminds me....I must get around to forming my own party.....

And when purely roleplaying Planned makes sense as well. We don't need to discover many new technologies right now. We need to build up a decent industrial base with the technologies we currently have access to. This is best done with one central government that knows what is needed. Not with a whole bunch of resource-wasting companies who compete with each other and that way create multiple similar, and thus redundant, structures. Once we are well settled we can switch our focus from building up a basic infrastructure to technological innovation and gradually introduce free market to most economic sectors.
