Siro discovers little known features of ACS
For instance - who here, has EVER checked to see the Calendar?
http://www.apolyton.net/forums/calendar.php
Isn't it cool?
too bad we haven't actual scheduled events besides people's birthdays.
Did you know that you could (theoretically - it is disabled!) gain referrals?
All you have to do is refer people via this address:
http://apolyton.net/forums/index.php?referrerid= (your user id [can be seen in the link to your info].
But referrals are disabled and all of us have exactly 0 referrals.
That is - besides MarkG who has two
http://apolyton.net/forums/member.ph...nfo&userid=830
What else can one discover in a single day?

The calendar could be cool for showing chats coming up and contests. Or if the column came back weekly, when it is going to be released but it in its present form the calendar seems kind of pointless.

I don't think it's anything as good as Area 62. If Area 62 was something good.

About a year ago I suggested that Poly meets be placed onto the Calender. Never happened because no-one noticed it.

I put an event on the calendar back in august, on the 25th. Other than that I've never used it.

Talking of little known features, what is the notepad for? Does anyone use it?

Yes, vBulletin has the facility for referrals, but I have never come across one site that has bothered switching it on. Perhaps you could trade in each referral for 100 posts or something, a bit like reward points

Great idea!
10 DL's for a new poster and they'd make King in no time

well I think the referrals system would check the IP and such.
But I agree that it is prone to abuse.
We have enough DLs and inactive users as it is.

Ok, I added an event to Sept 29, but it says private event. How can we add ones that others can see? Or make a private event and have it sent to other members calendars as well?

I soon have a feeling that the whole calendar feature is more than pointless, unless public Poly events are marked in it. This is just IMHO.
