Use an IRC client...
Download an IRC client such as MIRC ( http://www.mirc.com) or X-Chat ( http://www.xchat.org).
Then when it loads up, choose a proper nickname for yourself and choose a proper server (Undernet) and click connect.
Providing you connect, you need to join the #civ3dem channel.
You would type:
"/join #civ3dem" (without quotes of course) and you should be good to go.
There is a more detailed version somewhere else I believe, but this is the very abridged version

new save made the decision to attack susa 1 turn early
and we took it iwth no loses.
Opiadom expanded but it was too late and chartes already has the land. we now only have 1 square of thiers making a flip unlikely

Thanks for the map OPD. I'll be using it instead of loading the game because Civ III is a very CPU-intensive application and that overheats my CPU to over 70 Celsius degrees and causes it to shut down (it is currently stable at 67 degrees). I will replace it in a few days and then I should be able to play normally again. Maybe I'll even install a heat sink afterwards...
Regarding Chartres, I think you're mistaken about the culture flip thing. We have 3 of their 21 city tiles, not 1, thus making a flip more likely. We should also strive to improve our total cultural value if we can to improve our chances even more. The Sistine Chapel with its cultural output of 6 will surely help.

We can get much more than that in peace negotiations at this point, but it seems to me like we're going to finish Persia to ensure our future Pax Apolytonia, as said by GePap in the Annexation of America thread.

OPD and Apoc...
I can't seem to download any of the save files you've posted. Whenever I attempt to download one, it downloads a file called "attached" with no file extender rather than the file you actually attached to the message...
Anyone have a clue why that's happening all of a sudden?

That seems to be a problem on Apolyton's end. I had the same problem when I downloaded OPD's save. I just renamed the file to add a .sav at the end and everything turned out alright.
