The Sims Online- this game might be kind of cool
yeah I know its the sims

But I actually own a copy of the Sims. . Yeah I got bored of it in a day. Once I mastered the timing the game was the same thing over and over. But a game with other actual people could be interesting.

There are a ton of things you can do. Although I wish there were common areas. One thing that will sorely be missed. But you can still go around and be a bum. And you can go around annoying other people- kind of like I do in real life .

I think this could overpass 20 million copies sold.

The game would be great, if it wasn't because of the monthly fee you have to pay, just to be able to play the game...

I've seen a screenshot, were there's some people who plays soccer...I would like to know, how that works (do you just tell your person to join a game, or do you control him/her during the game? (telling when to shoot...etc...)

IF they make it possible to join some free servers, then I'd buy the game...otherwise not...

Yes. It will be revolutionary if the programmers dont mess up the human-human interaction

i can't think anything more boring than the Sims

the only reason why it sells so much copies is because this is one of the few games women buy too... maxis did some smart thinking... doubling their potential buyers!

well i don't see the fun in designing a house and so on ... sim city on the other hand isn't too bad!

Once you get rich and date all women in the neighbourhood (what takes only a few hours) the game becames really boring indeed.
But I did had fun with it until them.

PS: I like build houses.

One of my favorite "games" as a kid was my fathers 3D home architecture program.

I don't think it will sell as many as Dissident said. The whole subscription based service will hurt those that are just starting to game, it hurts in the market of women and kids that bought the Sims but are not sure they will play online enough to make it worth it. If they can convince tthose people that it is worth it and interaction works properly, than the game could be huge hit. If not, well they still sold so many copies of the Sims that they will cover the losses and then some.

Pay a fee to play a game on-line? A fee on top of my ISP charges? NEVER. EVER.

I doubt it would be successful if you had to pay a fee each month to play the game. Most people who play Sims aren't hardcore gamers.

An addon to allow people to host their own Sims community online would probably sell like hotcakes though.

Well...that's the best part of the game...to design your own house...

Defently...and based on how many addons they made for The Sims, there'll proberbly be some addons for the Sims Online also...and hopefully, one of them gives that ability, to host your own community...

Isn't this game just gonna esentially be a fancy chat-room?

What can you do besides talk to people? Stuff that you can't do equally well with the standard version, I mean...

From what they are saying, you will be able to create businesses. You might set up a pizza store and buy all the things you need to run a pizza business and then people buy from you. You can run clubs and get all those things together. Etc. The fact is that you will need other people to play cooperatively with you to estabilish those things. That is where the interaction will come in. I am not sure how well it will work out when some people will play a lot more than others. We will have to wait and see, although I am not sure reviews for this type of game will be what will indicate how good it really is.

Intriguing concept ... we'll have to see if it works or not.

monthly fee?

damn that sucks

well in the case of monthly fees I doubt the game will surpass 10 million copies. Maybe with several expansions though.
