Why can't I simply add the country flag?
The country flag does add some colour but trying to add it to an existing profile seems impossible without having to fill in the other (eg name) fields which privacy concerns dictate I leave blank. Solution?

Sounds like I'm too honest - GWB is not my flavour of the month at the moment; so I might plump for Nana Mouscouri instead . Thanks for the simple solution.

BTW you seem to be exercising your prerogative as admin - the Greek flag is larger than the Oz one Our Southern Cross stars are hardly visible

Actually they have the same width. All flags have a width of 30, however not all flags have the same dimension ratios. Example, some EU country is square, whereas the Canadian flag has a 2:1 ratio. Tha larger the ratio, the smaller the flag.

True (says he, somewhat envious of the unique and striking red-and-white design of his North American Commonwealth brethren, not to mention the pleasing 2:1 ratio). Slight OT but worth mentioning the monarchists outmaneuvering the republicans downunder to rob us of the chance of a more distinctive icon.

http://apolyton.net/forums/images/flags/
You can see all the flags Apolyton has here (besides the 2 that aren't showing up). They are all fairly similar in size.
Btw Mark, let me know if you want an updated version of that page, I have one with all the flags working and in alphabetical order.
(OT)If the Republicans had managed to come up with a workable Republic government model, it probably would have been voted in.

That is what I implied by "outmaneuvred". Cunning Howard posed the illogical question in the referendum, thus dividing the republican camp. Surely the first rational question is "Should Australia become a republic". If yes, then work out the form it should take.

Doesn't yours have a 2:1 ratio? At least that's what I gathered from the dimensions, 30x15.
Greece, on the other hand.......it conveniently has a 3:2 ratio

If you don't want to fill in the name fields, then just put in --------.

Running with Tonic's alt thread,
I'm with you on how pathetic that whole republican vote was. Why would we want to be subservient to some other country, let alone a pale old bunch of Brits.

And if Australia is to declare allegiance to anybody it may as well make it's reporting lines to GWB explicit and change our union jack to a stars and stripes.

Banish the thought. Celestial pajamas (aka stars and stripes) don't make distinguished national emblems
