Best Looking Unit
Just curious as to what everone thinks is the "coolest" looking unit in the game. Personally, I like infantry the best. I love the sound of their rifle reloading, and I love their doughboy helmets. Maybe its because I am a WW1 history buff.
My second favorite is the Impi. I like the headress. Anyone else have a favorite?

My favorite is probably Modern Armor, since it's so intimidating, or the Panzer because it 0wnz0rs (in the game and in history ).

I like the marine's look.
A pity that it is so useless in the original game.
I powered it up a little in the editor. Maybe this way I am going to see more of them.

Mostly the things I don't see much.
Egyptian chariot. Has anyone even SEEN a chariot except Egyptian? I don't build them and I haven't seen the AI do it either.

Paratroopers in action. The "paradrop" animation is pretty cute
Other cool units, in no particular order: the russian Cossack, marines (too bad they're almost useless, just like the paratroopers), Panzer, MA, Immortal.

I Like the war elephant (fav Civ 2 unit) and the Chinese RIder. Modern Armour is pretty fearsome, and has a great sound effect.
I think my favourites are the tanks, the way they bob up and down when waiting, and the way the turret bursts when they get beaten.

You should make a poll!
My fav one is the Modern Armour.
The swordsman is also a nice one.
The Knight is a cool one as well.

Sneezy the rifleman is also a laugh.

I like the Battleship - the full broadside salvo is cool and when they sink it's like the Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor.

It is indeed very impressive. Unfortunately such a powerful bombardment makes the "artillery bombardment failed" message even more disapointing/annoying.

In order:
Legionary (Love their 'fortified' stance)
Battleship (Impressive Bombardment animation)
Infantry (joyous little 'victory dance' on promotion)

To me, it's two units
Modern Armor and Immortals
The Immortal fortify stance with the sword in the air looks deadly. You can just feel the tension waiting for it to slice into another unit, it's great

When you include custom units, I'd vote for the musket infantry or the napoleonic rifleman ... oh and not to forget BlueO's amazones!

You may find it funny, but my fav unit is the... warrior. I simply like the way they slash the enemies with their axes and how they groan after they win a battle ("groooooaaarrrhh", nice. )

I like the Man o War English UU, and the frigates,
The war elephants are coolest, nice sounds and animation.
I've not tried the modern day units yet! I got frustrated.. maybe I should play with less than 16 civs next time.
The knights and catapults are good too.
I agree about the battleship.. we also need some big industrial cruisers/dreadnoughts.

It makes me wonder why they're only as powerful as a guy on a horse.

Horses are faster and more maneuverable so maybe that is the offset to the power of the elephant.
