Whoops! I didn't see this thread, only the one labelled "backup". I thought by "backup" it was for if we managed to get up to the 6th tech in the next chat. So I voted for PlaNets in the other poll, but would have done so here.

I would suggest holding one tech poll but making it multichoice. Then just pick the second most voted option as the back-up tech. This would allow players to vote on a beeline instead of just one tech. For example, I would like to have voted on both PlaNets and IndEco.
