Official: 9th Tech
the situation:
last time's winner was planetary networks, and the backup was ethical calculus. unfortunately, neither was available, so we went with industrial economics. we got applied physics from a Data Pod.
Current Tech List:
Your choices for 9th tech are........ - Doctrine: Loyalty - Permiter Defense, The Command Nexus, POLICE STATE Leads to: Intellectual Integrity
- Docrtine: Flexibility - Foil (M4) Troop Transport, Pressure Dome. Leads to: Doctrine Initiative, Doctrine: Air Power
- Ethical Calculus - Children's Creche DEMOCRATIC Leads to: Intellectual Integrity, Gene Splicing
- Planetary Networks - Probe Team, Hologram Theatre, The Virtual World, PLANNED, Librarian (specialist).
Leads to: Industrial Automation, Cyberethics.
- Polymorphic Software - Heavy Artillery.
Leads to: Advanced Subatomic Theory, Optical Computers
- Secrets of the Human Brain - Hypnotic Trance, FUNDAMENTALIST
Leads to: Neural Grafting, Centauri Empathy.
- High Energy Chemistry - Plasma Steel (D3) Nerve Gas Pods.
Leads to: Advanced Subatomic Theory, Synthetic Fossil Fuels.
- Nonlinear Mathematics - Particle Impactor (A4).
Leads to: Superstring Theory
Backup and first choice are in this poll. it is multi choice, so vote TWICE, ONCE FOR BACKUP, ONCE FOR FIRST CHOICE. DO NOT VOTE FOR THE SAME TECH TWICE.
this method is experimental, so we'll see how it works

Let's get Planetary Networks, so I can play wargames over the net with Spartans.

i'd like a beeline to synthetic fossil fuels (so we can wipe out the hive if need be ) so either ethical calculus or high energy chemistry are good for me as backup. i voted calculus since we could use democracy and gene splicing
and networks for first choice of course

TKG - perhaps in future you should have a first and second backup option in your polls. Remember this last chat we had PlaNets as first choice and EthCalc as second, yet we got the option of NEITHER?
Or perhaps (this may take a little more work but then serve us well for a while) you could poll on a few different chains of techs, eg you favour HiNRGChem-EthCalc-Gene Splicing-FossFuels. If we had say two such sequences, whenever we couldn't progress along one for a while, we could resort to the other. This may seem unnecessary, but remember we will be possibly swapping with other factions, and there may be a time that we get several techs rapidly from pods/artifacts. If so it is possible that a plan of three or more techs decided upon may not be sufficient.
Also, this way you'd need to do one massive poll effort and then none for quite some time.

1) Planetary Networks
2)Ethical Calculus
Planned economies are alwasy good The surge of population will help our faction grow nicely.
Ethical Calculus cause the Children's Creche! Our children are running amok in our cities with no guidance!
